Supermodel Gigi Hadid was hired by Tommy Hilfiger not just to model but to collaborate on the designs and serve as the company’s face to the world . Bloomberg says executives are convinced Miss Hadid could double their women’s business.
Tommy Hilfiger and his executives are quite impressed with Miss Hadid. They are extremely confident in her skills and reputation. Currently, women’s Hilfiger sales amount to only 25 percent of Hilfiger’s total sales, but with Miss Hadid on board, that number is expected to approach 50 percent of total sales.
Supermodel Gigi Hadid has gained the appreciation of Emanuel Chirico, the chief executive of PVH Corp., the parent company of Hilfiger, Izod, and Calvin Klein.
Mr. Chirico explained in a conference last month the expectations they have in Gigi.
“It’s also a part of an overall marketing strategy to build up our women’s business globally. We think it’s a huge opportunity.”
