Lara Trump is taking a moment to reminisce about some of the most memorable moments from her family life. In a recent episode of Pod Force One, the wife of Eric Trump revealed how her father-in-law, Donald Trump, reacted on the night he left the White House in 2020.
According to Lara, the Trump family experienced a somber moment when they arrived in Palm Beach, Florida, following Trump’s election defeat to Joe Biden. “It was very somber. It was an incredibly tough time for all of us, and I think it was an incredibly tough time for him,” the mother of two noted.
Lara Trump revealed that the atmosphere after the results felt heavy, and the family had little conversation. During dinner that evening, Trump surprised everyone with an unexpected remark.
“Well, kids, I’ve got to do it again,” he said, declaring his ambition to run for president again before even sitting down. Lara told host Miranda Devine that the moment made her realize Trump had a relentless determination to fulfill his dream.
“Any one of the things he had against him… would have been enough for someone to say, ‘You know what? That’s it. I’m out of this,” she added, applauding her father-in-law’s inspiring words that showed he was an ultimate go-getter.
“He went through all of it and left Washington, D.C., and hours later knew he was going to do it again,” she said.

Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump with 306 Electoral College votes, clinching the presidency with a win in Pennsylvania. The results were declared after three days of counting, which delayed processing. Trump became the first incumbent president since George H.W. Bush in 1992 to lose a reelection bid.
“I sought this office to restore the soul of America,” Biden said in a prime-time address to the nation. According to The Associated Press, alongside Joe Biden, Kamala Harris also made history as the first Black vice president.
“Dream with ambition, lead with conviction and see yourselves in a way that others may not simply because they’ve never seen it before,” The former California senator told Americans: “You chose hope and unity, decency, science and, yes, truth … you ushered in a new day for America.”
According to NPR, Donald Trump ran an aggressive rally in the final weeks of the race, flying to rallies across the country aboard Air Force One and relying on a loyal base of supporters, adopting new ways of making his MAGA campaign gather votes.

He also faced criticism for not taking the COVID-19 pandemic seriously, even as cases rose and people fell ill. Yet, when the results came out, he refused to concede defeat and claimed there was widespread voter fraud, repeatedly alleging the election had been “stolen.”
Courts and election officials said there was no evidence of fraud on a scale that could change the outcome, but the allegations caused tension and created havoc across the nation. Among the critics, Republican strategist Sarah Longwell said that “Trump was defeated because of his failure to connect with the thing that voters most cared about, which was the coronavirus.”
On election night, Trump acknowledged the difficulty of defeat, telling supporters: “Losing is never easy. Not for me, it’s not.”
