A flashpoint during the interview between Guthrie and Trump came when the Today host asked Trump about a conspiracy theory he retweeted. The theory stated that SEAL Team Six had instructions from Biden to cover up that Osama bin Laden was alive. When Trump said that people could decide whether it was true or not, Guthrie berated him about misusing his platform as president of the United States.
Fast forward to 2026, and Donald Trump made a personal call to Savannah Guthrie when he heard about the disappearance of her mother. Nancy Guthrie has been reported missing since Feb. 1, 2026. Unknown individuals have issued several ransom letters. No attempt has been made to contact the Guthrie family directly. Donald Trump has directed the FBI to look into Guthrie’s disappearance. The case is being treated as a kidnapping.

Donald Trump even commented on his relationship with the Today host. He said, “I always got along very well with Savannah.”
Donald Trump personally reviewed the footage from Guthrie’s doorbell camera. He directed the FBI to be at the family’s disposal and monitored the situation closely.
The disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, which is being treated as a kidnapping, has gripped the country. The mother of Savannah Guthrie was last seen at her Arizona residence on Jan. 31, 2026. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI have been tirelessly searching for Nancy Guthrie. They retrieved blood samples from her porch, which were confirmed to belong to her.

The doorbell camera that Guthrie used also captured footage of an individual trying to tamper with it, wearing gloves and a mask. There have been speculations that the mages and the video depicting this could be of two separate individuals on two separate dates. There has been some tension reported between the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Office. This has largely been attributed to access to evidence.
Guthrie’s family has also revealed that she suffers from a severe medical condition. She likley doesnot ahve access to the medicine that she needs daily. The FBI has put outa reward for information that can help authorities recover Nancy Guthrie.
