Donald Trump hinted at using military force against drug cartels in Mexico and Colombia. Trump said, “Would I launch strikes on Mexico to stop drugs? It’s OK with me. Whatever we have to do to stop drugs. Mexico is… look, I looked at Mexico City over the weekend. There’s some big problems over there.”
He further added, “If we had to, would we do what we’ve done to the waterways? You know, there are almost no drugs coming through our waterways anymore. Isn’t it down to like 85 percent?”
He wants to combat America’s drug problem by addressing its source. His casual tone has received backlash since it’s a threat to bomb the countries and wage war on them.

Furthermore, he added, “We have almost no drugs coming into our country by sea. You know, the waterways. And you know why? OK, it’s pretty obvious. Would I do that on the land corridors? Look, every boat we knock out, we save 25,000 American lives – not to mention the destruction of families. These families are decimated forever. The mother, the father, the children, they never recover from it.”
Basically he wants to get rid of the factories manufacturing cocaine and fentanyl. He said Columbia is making cocaine in factories and millions of people are dying because of that. In the interview he said he isn’t striking or knocking out these factories but he would do it and feel proud of it.
He stated he does not feel the same way about the modes they use, and they are all under surveillance. He explained how Colombia has cocaine factories, and the only solution is to knock them out.

So far, Trump has been vocal about tackling the drug problems and even bombed vessels carrying drugs in the Caribbean. Although there was no proof of drugs, 80% people were killed in these strikes. Trump’s statement comes amidst Canada, the US and Mexico preparing to host the tournament from next year in June.
Gianni Infantino is all praise for President Trump, calling him rightfully elected and saying that people should respect democracy. He also announced a new FIFA Peace Prize, and Trump might win it after not getting the real Nobel Peace Prize. However, Infantino’s open support for Trump could violate FIFA’s rule that requires political neutrality.
