What started as a political bromance has now burst into a full-blown feud. On Friday, Donald Trump emphatically shut down reports of a planned reconciliation with Elon Musk, declaring, “You mean the man who has lost his mind?” in an interview with ABC News. The president went on to say he was “not particularly” interested in speaking to Musk, just hours after whispers of a high-level call between the two were reportedly in motion.

Once allies during the 2024 election, the duo’s relationship now lies in tatters after Musk unleashed a social media tirade earlier this week. He went from slamming Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” to alleging deep state conspiracies and even calling for Trump’s impeachment.

The tech billionaire also made unsubstantiated claims linking Trump to Jeffrey Epstein. This post has now been deleted.

The White House has not commented directly on the Epstein accusations, but Trump responded via Truth Social by saying that Musk was “wearing thin” and “he just went CRAZY!”

Adding insult to injury, Trump is reportedly looking to sell the Tesla he purchased with fanfare earlier this year, aka a red model he once proudly displayed on the White House lawn to “support American innovation.”

What Went Wrong Between Donald Trump and Elon Musk?

The rift began quietly, with Musk stepping down from his White House advisory role just days ago. Though Trump gave him a warm farewell, citing his “bold ideas,” it was quickly overshadowed by Musk’s increasingly erratic posts.

On Tuesday, Musk slammed Trump’s tax and spending package, calling it a “disgusting abomination.” Trump retaliated by threatening to pull all federal contracts from Musk’s companies. Including SpaceX!

By Thursday, the situation had spiraled.

Musk reposted a message supporting Trump’s impeachment and claimed that without him, Trump would have never won the election. Trump, in turn, accused Musk of undermining his administration and hinted that the government may soon cut ties with all Musk-affiliated projects “to save taxpayer money.”

Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance defended Trump, pushing back against claims that the president is impulsive. “Anyone who has seen him operate under pressure knows that’s ridiculous,” Vance posted on X.

There are many lies the corporate media tells about President Trump. One of the most glaring is that he’s impulsive or short-tempered.

Despite investor Bill Ackman’s call for the two to make peace “for the good of America,” it appears Trump is firmly shifting gears. A White House source confirmed there’s no upcoming call scheduled between the two, and Musk’s camp has ignored all contact from Trump’s team.

A Tesla Divorce and Billionaire Fallout as the Feud Goes Nuclear

The public unraveling of Trump and Musk’s relationship marks a rare split between two of America’s most powerful and outspoken figures.

As Trump focuses on global diplomacy (balancing talks with China’s Xi Jinping and Ukraine’s Zelensky), he’s made it clear that reconciliation with Musk isn’t on his radar.

For now, Musk continues to rant on X, while the red Tesla Trump once adored may soon be history.

The White House lawn might be missing more than a car. It could be the symbol of a partnership that once shaped the tech-meets-politics narrative in America.
