The heartthrob of the royal family, Kate Middleton, is everyone’s favorite. Known for her humble nature, flawless skin, and beautiful locks, she’s learned to embrace the natural process of ageing like a pro. But wait, does the internet think the same? Sadly, no! They think the 43-year-old is ageing poorly.

Critics across platforms like Reddit, Quora, and X (formerly Twitter) have aimed at her unedited photos and scrutinized her appearance with blunt remarks. One user on X wrote in March 2025, “Kate Middleton is ageing poorly. A life of hating others, being dreadfully unloved, and choosing misery will do that to a woman. Perhaps that’s why her photos are heavily photoshopped. Very sad.”

As per the outlet Nicki Swift, even though there hasn’t been any confirmation that Princess Kate edits her pictures, except for that one Mother’s Day picture controversy in 2024, where she received backlash. Still, some Reddit users pointed to unretouched images as alleged proof that she’s ageing like a bullet train.

While some people had mixed opinions, many weren’t very kind with their words. Another user wrote that she has nice facial features, but her skin is bad, which makes her look much older.” However, despite harsh comments, many people continue to praise her pretty smile and natural features.

A Former royal aide, Anne Simmons, told Edit Suites, “She’s incredibly organized. No chaos, no luxury overload—just a handful of carefully chosen steps that she clearly trusts.” Reportedly, Kate Middleton’s skincare and morning routine is very simple. She will start her day with a few moments to herself, followed by using a moisturiser and a single hair product.

Furthermore, Kate has never gone under the knife. In October, Us Weekly reported that the mother of three periodically opts for richer formulas with anti-ageing properties, like the Biotulin Supreme Skin Gel, which gives an effective glow.

Though Kate Middleton has never confirmed using the product, sources close to her, including former makeup artist Carl Kay, suggest she not only swears by it but also introduced it to former First Lady Michelle Obama. “The effects are unbelievable,” Kay said.

Meanwhile, Robert Jobson’s recent biography, Catherine, Princess of Wales: The Biography of a Future Queen, said that diet also plays an important role in Middleton’s well-being. She likes having a healthy smoothie with kale, spinach, spirulina, and blueberries. In addition, her breakfast also includes oatmeal, which she tops with fruit, nuts, and cinnamon, a combination that is super rich in fiber.

Her lunch consists of watermelon, avocado, cucumber, onion, and feta salad, paired with vegetable skewers or lentil curry. Dinner consists of her cherished watermelon salad. She strictly avoids dairy products like cheese and milk (which can cause acne for some). Lastly, Kate also exercises almost regularly to remain fit and binges on healthy nuts and popcorn.

It’s funny how the internet is a volatile space; one minute, they will rave about Kate Middleton’s beauty and condemn it the minute they feel she’s not looking perfect. Owing to her recent health setbacks, age-shaming a woman appears unacceptable.

We hope one day people on the internet can get over the illusion of ‘perfection’ and make the platform a judgment-free zone for women (yes, even celebrities, because why not) to exist without being age-shamed or body-shamed and just be. Until then, we will say it out loud: Kate Middleton was and always will be one of the most beautiful women in the royal family,  defying the passage of time with the utmost grace and strength.
