A new “serial pooper” at Southern Illinois University is giving the pooping jogger a run for her money.
As the Inquisitr reported last month , a “mad pooper” struck the city of Colorado Springs by going number two in random people’s lawns on her daily jogs. After searching for the person responsible for the act, a spokesperson for the woman finally came forward, citing that the mad pooper was “struggling after gender reassignment surgery.” In addition, she also suffered from a traumatic brain injury.
But it appears as though someone in Illinois is taking a page out of the mad pooper’s book. According to NBC 5 Chicago , a serial pooper has been leaving feces in the dorm washing machines at Abbott Hall at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. The Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the matter, and the case is open and active.
When students put in a load of laundry and then leave to pass time until it’s finished, the serial pooper strikes, leaving feces in the pile of clothes, normally after the washing cycle ends. The Daily Egyptian states that there were a few reports of fecal matter in washing machines at the university last year, and the perpetrator struck again this past September.

At this point in time, there have been eight accounts of the pooper striking since last school year. One student told the publication that she is “terrified” to wash her clothes at Abbott Hall now but believes that whoever is responsible is leaving a load after students take too long to retrieve their clothes from the washing machine. This perhaps alludes the fact that whoever is doing it could just be mad that people are hogging the machines for too long.

Southern Illinois University spokesperson Rae Goldsmith said that housing staff members have already had conversations with students about respecting each other’s property while also suggesting that they stay in the laundry room and wait for their clothes to be finished instead of leaving the laundry unattended.
Additionally, one student told the Daily Egyptian that the university may begin to lock the laundry room doors so that students cannot wash their clothes in Abbott Hall for the time being.
