Bangtang Boys (BTS) are the hottest K-pop boy band as of December 2016. The Korea Herald reports that the boys dominated the December brand value ranking, surpassing rival groups like EXO and Seventeen who came in second and third.

According to the Korea Herald , 36 million pieces of data were collected by the Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation.

BTS came in second in the brand ranking in September but topped the list in the three subsequent months.

BTS has been riding a huge wave of success this year. The group’s album, Wings , ended up in the top 10 of Billboard’s end of year World Albums Chart. It’s charting at No. 6.

According to Billboard , that makes BTS’ Wings not just the highest charting K-pop album of the year but also the highest charting K-pop album ever.

They also edged EXO out of their top spot on this chart as well. EXO previously had the highest spot when they dropped their album, Exodus, in 2015.

BTS is also the first K-pop boy band to have two albums on the World Music Album Chart, Billboard reports. Their EP, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2 , is also on the chart at No. 9. The Bangtang Boys are the first and only K-pop group to have two albums on the chart.

Wings was absolutely a bestseller this year. This is especially true in the U.S., where the album remains the bestselling K-pop album ever.

The album debuted at No. 26 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold 16,000 units in its first week, based on stats collected by Nielsen Music. According to Billboard the majority of those sales (11,000) were traditional album sales.

That milestone for BTS’s Wings this year means they have had three albums land on the Billboard 200 chart. Their first EP, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life , Pt. 2 , went to No. 171 on the chart in December 2015, and a compilation album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever made it to No. 107, according to Billboard.

For perspective, less than a dozen K-pop acts have had any albums appear on the Billboard 200 chart. BTS has three.

Now, the seven-member boy band is getting ready to go on tour in 2017 in Seoul, North America, and for the first time, South America. BTS fans are practically devouring the tickets, so much so that management had to add two more dates to the Wings Tour.

As Koreaboo reports, the first venue to report a sold-out show was the tour stop in Newark, New Jersey. That venue sold out in four minutes according to Koreaboo

In Brazil fans have even started protesting because they want a bigger venue for their concert, All Kpop reports. The venue reportedly has 7,000 seats but over 50,000 eager BTS fans are trying to get tickets.

“BTS is doing a tour, and the Brazilian concert hall has a max capacity of 7,000 but there were over 50,000 people trying to get tickets at once.” a fan reported in a Korean online community, according to All Kpop.

“So the Brazilian fans are tweeting #tf4RespectArmy and demanding that there be a bigger venue. Wow.”
