Katy Perry recently dispelled rumors that she's currently feuding with fellow pop star Lady Gaga. At the end of the day, the singer says it's "all about the music."
Although Perry and Gaga have singles currently battling it out for the top position on the charts, this doesn't mean the two aren't being friendly to one another. The Firework singer said she's just as excited as anyone about Lady Gaga's new single.
"It's all about the music and I really agree with her message. I've always been a fan of hers and I like to see her evolution," she told AMP Radio.
She continued, "I think that it's also nice that we're all in the same kind of cycle together because it really keeps us both on our toes. It's not that we feel competition, it's that we keep each other on each other's toes and it's a healthy thing."
It would appear that Katy Perry and Lady Gaga need to sign up for the mutual admiration society. During her recent chat with Ryan Seacrest, the Applause singer said she was a fan of Perry and her supporters. In other words, rumors of their feud are pretty much an unsubstantiated lie.
"Because look, we both just happened to want to put our singles out within a week of each other. And it's not necessarily convenient for everyone and may be a little bit awkward. But we don't need to force-feed this negativity into it until everyone explodes," she explained.
Katy Perry's Roar is currently sitting pretty at the top of the iTunes charts. However, Lady Gaga's latest tune isn't too far behind. The song is currently perched at number two. The singles could break first week sales records if they manage to move 400,000 copies a piece.
