WWE Rumors: Main Event Match For ‘WrestleMania 34’ Has Top Five Possible Choices
When it comes to the main event for WWE’s WrestleMania 34 next year, rumors have already suggested which match will go on last. While Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar has been speculated for many months now, that doesn’t mean it’s set in stone. Due to potential changes to storylines, or unfortunately injuries on the road to WrestleMania, the grand finale match could also become something different. Recently, the top five possible matches that could go on last at WrestleMania were revealed with some interesting options on the list.
WrestleMania is still about six months away, but that doesn’t stop the speculation. On Thursday, WWE Leaks reported an update to the odds that have been given for what will constitute the main event at Mania next April. Currently leading the way is the match that most people are expecting will happen. Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar, most likely with the WWE Universal Championship on the line, leads all contenders with odds of 1 to 7 odds. This has seemed to be the plan for quite a while now, with expectations that Reigns is going to be the Royal Rumble 2018 winner and choose to face Lesnar on “the grandest stage of them all.”
Coming in second on the odds list is John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar with odds of 5 to 2. This could take place, but probably would be more of an audible. WWE has Cena positioned as a free agent where he can fight superstars on both shows. With that said, if he’s the Royal Rumble winner he could choose to go after the WWE Championship or the WWE Universal Championship. If Reigns was hurt or something else disrupted his story with chasing the Universal title, then WWE might go with Cena vs. Lesnar.
Three possible matches are tied for third place on the latest odds. They are AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, John Cena vs. Roman Reigns, and “Any Undertaker Match.” Each of these choices carry odds of 6 to 1 right now. As fans saw this past April at WrestleMania 34, Undertaker fought Reigns in the main event which closed the show and possibly closed Taker’s legendary career in the wrestling ring. Still, rumors have continued to pop up that he may not be done.
As far as the other options go, most longtime fans might want to see that AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura dream match close the show, but WWE rarely gives the fans what they really want. With that said, fans have already seen John Cena vs. Roman Reigns happen once, and there’s a good chance that there are probably enough fans who wouldn’t want to see that closing out the next edition of WrestleMania.
