Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt Had A Sexless Marriage Before Divorce, Fought Over Adopting A Seventh Child [Report]
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s marriage may have been strained long before Jolie chose to file for divorce.
According to a new report, a therapist working with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt prior to their marriage has revealed that the couple was involved in a sexless marriage prior to their split and that they actually attempted to save their marriage before calling it quits after a 12-year relationship.
On the cover of the latest issue of Life & Style magazine, a headline reads, “Brad & Angelina Battle: What the Therapist Knows,” and below the announcement, news of Pitt’s alleged drug use and Jolie’s reported control issues are mentioned.
On October 31, Headlines & Global News shared details from the magazine’s report, revealing that despite Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s efforts to mend their marriage, the therapy sessions between them only made their issues worse. In addition, the outlet revealed, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were frequently fighting in front of their six children and their sexual relationship was long over.

During the therapy sessions, it was allegedly revealed that Brad Pitt’s temper and rumored drug use led Angelina Jolie to starve herself in hopes that her husband would begin to sympathize with her. However, rather than get what she wanted, Angelina Jolie was faced with Pitt distancing himself from her and her ongoing demands, which included her desire to keep her family moving from place to place.
“Brad suddenly felt disenchanted with [Angelina]’s plans of having one, big and multi-cultural family. This simply made the family chaotic and unorganized and Pitt cannot handle them anymore. And with the instability of the family, Brad suffered from [a] mental breakdown,” the outlet claimed.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt fell in love while filming the 2005 movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith when Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston. Then, weeks after Aniston filed documents to end her marriage to Pitt, he and Angelina Jolie confirmed their romance with a public outing in Kenya and one year later, their first biological child, daughter Shiloh, now 10, was born.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt also share three adopted children, Maddox, 15, from Cambodia, Pax, 12, from Vietnam, and Zahara, 11, from Ethiopia, and two additional biological children, twins Vivienne and Knox, eight.

According to another report on October 31, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were also feuding over the possible adoption of a seventh child during the months leading up to their divorce. At the time, Celebrity Dirty Laundry shared a portion of Life & Style magazine, which noted that the now-estranged couple had engaged in “ugly fights” over plans to expand their family.
At the end of July, just two months before Angelina Jolie filed for divorce, a source spoke to In Touch Weekly about her and Pitt’s potential adoption of another child.
“[Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt] believe that adopting an older child will make people aware of orphans who are often overlooked,” a friend explained to the magazine at the time. “According to Angie, everybody seems to want to adopt babies when there are so many other wonderful, worthy and deserving older children out there.”
“They feel that by adopting a child who is 10 or older, he or she will mix in better with their rambunctious kids, who are getting bigger by the day,” the friend continued.
Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt on September 19 and requested full physical custody of their six children at the time of her filing.
