Cindy Barshop Still In Financial Troubles After ‘RHONY’: IRS Going After Barshop’s Property

Cindy Barshop only filmed one season of The Real Housewives of New York, and she used the opportunity to market her company, a series of spas in and around New York. On the show, Cindy was interested in marketing her own products and her services, which included bedazzling women’s private parts.

But Cindy was cut after just one season along with half the cast. If the show had been interesting to watch, Barshop may have been able to keep her spot on the show, but she was fired. And Cindy quickly revealed that she had spent her Real Housewives of New York earnings before she had received them. Reports quickly surfaced that she owes money, and it is possible that she’s never been able to make that money back that she invested in her business.

According to a new Radar Online report, Cindy Barshop is now being hunted down the IRS. The report reveals that she’s been hit with a federal tax lien for $142,330.36, which is quite the amount. In addition, Barshop failed to pay her taxes last year, and the IRS is coming after her. And rather than wait for the money she owes, the IRS is going after Cindy Barshop’s property. Of course, she’s a single mother to two children, who were almost newborns when she joined the show.

Cindy Barshop lost her spot on the show after the show’s fourth season, and she was fired alongside Jill Zarin, Alex McCord, and Kelly Bensimon in the biggest shake-up in Real Housewives history. Since then, Barshop has only made headlines for owing money and struggling with her business. And when she thought she could invite some of the Real Housewives of New York ladies to an event in hopes of getting some extra sales, Sonja Morgan didn’t show up.

“I invited her in to the spa — well, my publicist did — and she says she’s coming in, and then she did a ghost on me, didn’t show up,” Barshop has previously revealed about the issue, according to Bravo.

The friendship suffered even more when Cindy Barshop learned that Sonja was going to a different spa once The Real Housewives of New York started airing. Cindy felt betrayed and she wanted to call out Morgan for her disloyalty. But one could argue that Morgan may be getting better service and treatment at a closer spa, so she would choose that spa over Cindy Barshop’s spas. Even though Barshop isn’t on the show anymore, she is staying close with some of the newer housewives, in case a spot opens up.

“I’m really good friends with Jules Wainstein, so I’m here to support her. I’m very happy for her. And hopefully, everything’s gonna go great. I know her kids. Our kids went to school together. And Dorinda Medley, I’ve gotten to know, and she’s great. Luann de Lesseps and I have reconnected, so I’m all happy about that,” Cindy Barshop reveals about the current cast, according to Bravo.

“You know what? I was so happy for her [to join RHONY] because Jules is a real housewife. When she has a party, it’s to the top. And she does a performance, and that’s naturally what she does,” she said. “So I think it’s going to be an awesome season. I’m psyched for everybody.”

It sounds like Cindy Barshop would definitely jump at the chance to return to the show, possibly to make some money so she can pay off the IRS. No one wants to owe money to the government.
