Drake ‘Comforted’ By Nicki Minaj After Rihanna Breakup, ‘Infatuated’ With Her [Report]

Drake is allegedly urging Nicki Minaj to hit the studio with him for another collaboration in the wake of his recent breakup with Rihanna.

According to a new report by Hollywood Life, just days after E! News confirmed that Rihanna and Drake had officially split after going public with their romance at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards in August, Drake is now turning his attention to Minaj in and outside of the studio.

An insider alleged to the site in the wake of Drake’s breakup with Rihanna that the “Hotline Bling” rapper has “been hitting up Nicki for the past few days asking her to make some studio time for him” and pushing a new collaboration.

“[Drake] told her he wants to express his feelings through a collaboration with her about love and sex and relationships,” Hollywood Life’s insider continued of Drake’s hopes to collaborate with Minaj, adding that Nicki has allegedly “comforted him” in the wake of his breakup with Rihanna.

“[Nicki] did tell him she wants to connect and discuss the possibility of the song,” the source added of Drake of Minaj.

Neither Drake nor Nicki have officially spoken out about the possibility of a duet hitting the airwaves in the near future, though reports suggesting that Drake is looking to hit the studio with Minaj come amid claims that the rapper is “infatuated” with Nicki after splitting with the “This Is What You Came For” singer.

Despite Nicki being in a relationship with rapper Meek Mill, whom she’s thought to have been dating for the past two years, Hollywood Life’s source claimed that Drake is willing to wait for Minaj now he’s single once again.

“Drake’s going to date around the block for a cool minute until the woman he truly wants is single — and that special lady is Nicki,” the source alleged. “[Nicki’s] the epitome of everything he wants in a woman and to be honest, the dude is infatuated with her.”

The site even went on to allege in another report that Drake and Rihanna fought over his admiration for Nicki Minaj, implying that the rapper’s infatuation with Minaj could have been one of the reasons the two opted to call it quits earlier this month.

According to the insider, Rihanna supposedly wasn’t exactly thrilled about Drake’s plans to hit the studio for another duet with Nicki after the two have previously collaborated on a number of tracks including “Truffle Butter,” “Only” and “Moment 4 Life.”

The source claimed prior to Drake and Rihanna’s breakup that the two “had an argument about Nicki because Drake kept rapping the lyrics to a few of his and Nicki’s [collaborations]” and noted that Drake supposedly kept “going on and on about how he and Nicki are magical when they’re on a track together.”

Drake, Rihanna and Minaj are yet to respond to the report and have not yet revealed if they have another collaboration in the works, though the insider alleged that Drake’s supposed constant references to Minaj left Rihanna feeling “jealous.”

“Drake could never look at Rihanna and tell her that he’s in love with Nicki too,” Hollywood Life’s source added of the rappers supposed feelings for Minaj.

E! News confirmed that Drake and Rihanna had split earlier this week, but did not reveal if Minaj allegedly played a part in their breakup.

“Rihanna and Drake are seeing other people at the moment,” the site confirmed of the breakup prior to the Minaj rumors, which came just weeks after the rapper gushed over his now ex-girlfriend at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. “They are not exclusive anymore,” the insider continued. “They still love each other, but their schedules have gotten in the way.”
