Justin Bieber ‘Blamed’ For Selena Gomez ‘Meltdown,’ Will They Reunite At American Music Awards?

The saga of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, still known as Jelena (Justin + Selena) by loyal fans, never seems to end. The two have gone through repeated breakups and makeups, giving their followers reason to hope earlier this year when she surfaced at his concert, and even “liked” a throwback photo that he posted of the two kissing. Now, in the most recent chapter in the Jelena book of love, Gomez allegedly is “blaming” Bieber for her “breakdown,” according to one report.

Life & Style reported that Selena “blames” Justin for her “breakdown,” citing sources who shared that she feels as if Bieber has “backed [her] into a corner.”

The problems allegedly began for the “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” singer when she viewed photos of Justin with his girlfriend Sofia Richie (the two have since split).

“It was really hard for her,” explained one of the insiders. “She saw Justin looking so happy and that really sent her into a downward spiral.”

In Touch noted that Selena canceled her Revival Tour on August 30 because of her health, reporting that “her unhealthy relationship” with Justin along with lupus and “constant partying” all contributed to that cancellation. Moreover, when she discovered the extent of Bieber’s and Richie’s then-romance, Gomez “had a meltdown,” an insider told In Touch.

But why does Justin continue to allegedly affect Selena so strongly?

An insider told Us Weekly that the singer is “fragile emotionally,” and Bieber allegedly plays a key role in her feelings. An example of a situation that caused emotional issues for Gomez: That Instagram war of words that she and Justin carried out in August.

Selena told Justin to stop sharing photos of himself with Sofia if he couldn’t cope with the backlash. Bieber allegedly then responded with an accusation that she had cheated.

“Oh I forgot about You and Zayn?” Bieber allegedly responded, hinting that she had been unfaithful with Zayn Malik.

“Selena lost it,” revealed the insider.

“She can be fragile emotionally and Justin is a major factor.”

Will the American Music Awards (AMAs) provide the perfect opportunity for a Jelena reunion?

Bieber and Gomez are vying for a prize at the AMAs, noted Teen Vogue. The awards show on November 20 features Beyoncé, Justin, Drake, and Selena in the competition, and The Artist of the Year category promises plenty of drama, with talented artists competing with each other.

The Artist Of The Year category includes Adele, Beyoncé, Bieber, Drake, Gomez, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood and The Weeknd. And that’s not the only opportunity for Justin or Selena to win.

The list of categories and nominated artists is lengthy, but Selena is competing with Adele and Rihanna for Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock, while Justin is competing for Favorite Male Artist – Pop/Rock with Drake and The Weeknd, according to Headline Planet.

As for whether it’s possible that the 2016 American Music Awards could include a reunion between Bieber and Gomez, what happened last November offers a clue.

PopSugar reported that Justin and Selena both attended the American Music Awards in Los Angeles last year, a day after their romantic reunion at the Montage hotel, where Bieber serenaded her with the Temptations “My Girl.” The two enjoyed a touchy-feely walk through the city after that.

Even though Gomez and Justin posed on the red carpet separately, rumors swirled that the two were reunited again. They both offered up hits during the ceremony, with Selena crooning “Same Old Love,” and Bieber choosing “Sorry” and “What Do You Mean.”

Could that happen again this year? Hollywood Life pointed out that some of Gomez’s most unexpected moments this year have featured Justin. When 2016 began, there hadn’t been any Jelena sightings since November, but then she reportedly “liked” some of his Instagram posts.

Those online clues that hope existed for Jelena fans resulted in excitement when the “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” singer was seen at Bieber’s concert in March, and they allegedly were going to reunite at his hotel for the week that he was there. But then came the Instagram war of words, followed by allegations that the two were feuding.
