Katie Holmes: ‘I’ve Found The Man Of My Dreams’

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were once a symbol of true love and friendship. Katie was busy with Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins when she decided to spend the rest of her life with Tom Cruise.

During her interview with W Magazine, she talked about her first meeting with Top Gun star and how she realized that he was the man of her dreams.

“I’ve found the man of my dreams,” said then 26-year-old actress. “From the moment I met him, it just felt like I’d known him forever. I was blown away. He’s the most incredible man. He’s so generous and kind, and he helps so many people, and, um, he makes me laugh like I’ve never laughed, and he’s a great friend.”

Before meeting Tom, Holmes had few notable relationships. She dated her Dawson’s Creek co-star Joshua Jackson when the show first started airing. In 2000, she met actor Chris Klein and were engaged by 2003. However, in early 2005 she and Klein ended their relationship.

Even Cruise had his share of relationships before he married Holmes. In the early to mid-1980s, he had relationships with Rebecca De Mornay, Patti Scialfa, and Cher. He then married actress Mimi Rogers in 1987 but ended their marriage in 1990. Later the same year, he married his Days of Thunder co-star Nicole Kidman. The duo later adopted two children Isabella and Connor Antony. In February 2001, Cruise filed for divorce from Kidman.

So, when in the W Magazine’s interview it was asked whether their relationship is just a rebound, Holmes stated that she will always have a “honeymoon phase” with Tom.

“Chris and I care about each other and we’re still friends. Tom is the most incredible man in the world. Meeting Tom—I’m just exhilarated. He makes me laugh, we have fun, we understand each other, everything is so aligned. I feel so lucky and so—like I’ve been given such a gift, such a gift, you know?”

Tom and Kat made their first public appearance together in Rome on April 27, 2005. A month later, Mission Impossible star declared his love for the actress on The Oprah Winfrey Show. On November 18, 2006, Homes and Cruise got married at the 15th-century Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano, Italy.

After six-years of happily married life, it was announced that the actress had filed for divorce from him. It was reported by CNN in mid-July that the couple was heading for divorce. An attorney stated that the couple had amicably settled for divorce just two weeks after she filed for it. Although the details of their agreement have never made public, it was stated that the former husband-wife wanted best for their daughter Suri.

“We are committed to working together as parents to accomplishing what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests,” read their joint statement. “We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.”

After their divorce, Holmes was linked with many celebrities. But it is Jamie Foxx that has caught a lot of media attention. According to Radar Online, their divorce agreement prohibits her from dating anyone publicly. An insider revealed to the outlet that Batman Begins‘ actress is not even allowed to talk about Scientology, about Cruse’s personal life, or date any other man for five years after the divorce.

“She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri,” the insider further added. “Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms — and got $4.8 million in child support, plus another $5 million for herself.”

Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx has never officially confirmed their relationship.
