Mariah Carey: Miley Cyrus Shares Why She’s Never Been A Fan Of The Diva

Mariah Carey is known for her diva ways and keeping her act on and off the stage flawless. The superstar has acquired millions of fans over her years as a songstress due to her talent and her extravagant way of speaking, dressing and living. Glamorous is not even a word that fully captures the essence of Mariah Carey, but another star admits that Mariah’s persona is all a little too much.

Miley Cyrus spoke with Elle recently as a part of her October cover story for the publication. The singer and actress was not shy about sharing her real opinion about Carey, who she claims to “see through.” Cosmopolitan shares the words of Cyrus in regards to her thoughts on the Vegas resident.

“‘I’ve never really been a fan, because it’s so much about Mariah Carey. That’s part of her shtick; I can see through that.’ According to Miley, what makes her different from the ~elusive chanteuse~ is Mariah has always been ‘about what she’s wearing, and it’s about her. ‘What I make isn’t about me. It’s about sharing my story; it’s about someone being connected to what I’m saying.'”

In addition to sharing about her dislike of Mariah Carey, a topic which stemmed from a comment she made to a contestant on the hit show The Voice, Miley also spoke to the magazine about subjects such as doing her own makeup, her relationship with Britney Spears, and why she is over and done with gracing red carpets. Cyrus also shares about her recent “growth period.”

The new coach on the hit reality show, who landed the gig over this past summer, continued on in the interview to demonstrate that she speaks her mind. Cyrus relayed how she is not only not a fan of Mariah, but also can’t stand sad contestant stories, as Cosmo shares.

“It’s like, if you’re going to have someone win because of their story, go write a screenplay about your life. On The Voice, I try to steer away everyone who comes in here with an idea of what ‘the voice’ means, which is that you’ve got to be the pitch-perfect singer.”

As for Mariah Carey, it’s unlikely she’ll even respond to Miley’s comments about her at all. Mariah is the queen of negating from the topic by simply dismissing the person’s relevance in the industry, as we all witnessed when Carey said on multiple occasions that she didn’t even know JLo and also dismissed the Kardashians without even mentioning their names. Carey clearly has other more important items to worry about in her life, especially with the drama that’s been surfacing between she and her siblings. However, even family, the diva seems to be dismissive of.

Carey’s own brother, Morgan, took his own stance on Mariah fabricating a persona to cover up where she’s really from and who she truly is after Mariah refused to help her sister Alison who suffers from addiction and who is HIV positive. As the Daily Mail reminds, Morgan and Alison created a video in which they plead with the “Shake it Off” singer to have a heart and assist Alison, but Mariah was not moved.

Mariah is busily planning her wedding to James Packer, caring for her twin children, Moroccan and Monroe, whom she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon, completing her world tour, performing her Vegas residency, all while starring in her very own docu-series, Mariah’s World. It’s therefore, highly unlikely that the superstar will have a moment to really care what Miley Cyrus has to say about her image and her way of portraying herself to the public.
