Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Have A Prenup, But Their Custody Battle Could Get Messy

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie signed a prenuptial agreement prior to their marriage, but it may not help them avoid a messy custody battle.

According to a new report, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie clearly outlined who gets what when it comes to their divorce, but when it comes to their six children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivenne, 8, Jolie wants full physical custody and Pitt wants joint.

“[Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s] prenuptial agreement is ironclad and details the specifics of their combined fortune… a reported $400 [million],” TMZ revealed to readers on September 26.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have 12 properties, but only three of those properties were purchased together, including their vineyard in France, Chateau Miraval, a home in New Orleans, Louisiana, and an apartment in New York City. The other nine properties were split between them with Pitt owning seven and Jolie owning two.

“The prenup makes divvying all that up simple. Rather than properties being an issue in the divorce, we’re told custody of their kids will be where the war really plays out,” TMZ added.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie tied the knot on August 23, 2014 after nearly a decade of dating. As fans will recall, Pitt and Jolie were accused of having an affair on the set of 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith. However, it wasn’t until spring of that year when the couple went public with their romance just weeks after Pitt’s then-wife filed for divorce.

Since the couple struck up their relationship over a decade ago, they’ve welcomed three children of their own and adopted three more from other countries. The couple’s oldest son, Maddox, was adopted from Cambodia by Jolie prior to the start of her romance with Pitt. Then, years later, Pitt adopted Maddox as his own and was a part of Zahara’s adoption from Ethiopia and Pax’s adoption from Vietnam.

According to another report, Brad Pitt attempted to save his marriage to Jolie before she filed for divorce last week.

“Brad never talked about leaving Angie. He was committed to her and the kids and wanted to save the marriage,” a source told Hollywood Life last week. “Those kids mean the world to Brad and he wanted to keep the family together for them.”

The source also revealed that Brad Pitt is absolutely brokenhearted over Jolie’s request for full custody of their six kids.

“Family is hugely important to him. Having her file for sole physical custody is tearing out his heart,” the source explained.

When Angelina Jolie filed her divorce documents in Los Angeles, she requested she be given full physical custody of the children with Pitt having nothing more than visitation. Meanwhile, as TMZ reported days ago, Pitt prefers to split custody equally.

“Brad Pitt will fight for joint physical custody of his six children,” the outlet explained to readers, revealing that Pitt is prepared embark on a legal war against his wife’s request.

According to Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt is suffering from an anger problem, which is often intensified by his alleged use of weed and alcohol. During one specific incident earlier this month, Pitt was accused of lunging at their oldest son, Maddox, after becoming intoxicated on a flight. Although Pitt reportedly claimed it was an accident, Jolie insists it was intentional.

Currently, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s children are living with Jolie in Los Angeles as the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services investigates the airplane incident.
