‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 Spoilers: Terrifying Theme Confirmed To Be Revealed Very Soon

Season 6 of American Horror Story is set to begin on Wednesday, and there is still not a whole lot that is known about it. Some spoilers have spilled out here and there, but no one knows just how valid they really are. Now, there has been an official announcement as to when the theme of the new season will be revealed, and it is on a date that everyone has known for quite some time.

Yes, the return date of American Horror Story is on Wednesday, and that is exactly when the theme will be revealed to the world as well.

As Collider pointed out, creator Ryan Murphy and FX have done a great job at keeping things a secret for any season of AHS, and that is especially true for Season 6. Many have wondered exactly which direction the fear will go, but nothing has been confirmed in any way, shape, or form.

Even with a whole host of teasers, as collected together by Vulture, there is still no definite word on what will happen in the upcoming episodes. When Season 6 begins on Wednesday, that is when everyone will find out what the theme is and what horrific happenings will be coming their way.

When looking at different possibilities and spoiler options for AHS 6, some have thought that the theme would be Stephen King’s The Mist. As reported by E! Online, Comcast and Xfinity cable guides in some cities had the series listed as American Horror Story: The Mist, and the first episode simply titled “Chapter 1.”

This has not been confirmed by FX at all as they are still trying to keep things a secret until the season premiere on Wednesday. It’s also odd considering Dimension Films and Spike TV are working on a TV series called The Mist, which is adapted from King’s tale.

John Landgraf, FX’s CEO, states that all of the teasers have revealed what season 6 of AHS will be about, but not all of them are correct, per Indie Wire.

“One is accurate; all the rest are misdirects. We decided, Ryan [Murphy] and I and [marketing president] Stephanie Gibbons, that it would be really fun this year…to keep it a mystery. There is a theme and a setting and a place and time, but we’re not going to reveal it.

So far, the names of the promos are:

  • “What’s Cooking?”
  • “Sunset Stroll”
  • “Post-Op”
  • “Lullaby”
  • “Descent”
  • “Milli Crossing”
  • “The Mist”
  • “Bite Me”
  • “Baby Face”
  • “Blink”
  • “The Shadow”
  • “Wind Chimes”
  • “Camp Sight”
  • “Blind Date”
  • “False Eyelashes”
  • “Illusion”
  • “Tide”
  • “The Harvest”
  • “The Visitors”
  • “Anthology”
  • “Bite-Sized”
  • “Self Preservation”
  • “The Lesson”
  • “Pitch A Fit”
  • “Bathing Beauty”
  • “Backtrack”

That’s an awful lot of work on promos that will mean absolutely nothing when all is said and done and Season 6 officially starts. It just goes to show you that the show’s heads are willing to do virtually anything possible to keep spoilers off the internet and the theme a surprise.

One can see by the name and the look of the teaser promo for “The Mist” that the season may be about that, but others have arguments too. Maybe it will be based on The Fog or Texas Chainsaw Massacre or The Crazies or any number of things, but only one of those promos is going to be accurate.

There is not a lot that is really known about Season 6 of AHS, but the cast has filled out nicely and it includes the return of Lady Gaga who debuted in “Hotel.” She will be joined by Cuba Gooding, Jr., Kathy Bates, Leslie Jordan, Angela Bassett, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Finn Wittrock, Denis O’Hare, Romika Annabell Osorio, Sarah Paulson, and Evan Peters.

Fans of American Horror Story have been begging for more information on Season 6, but they just haven’t been rewarded. Some don’t find that to be a bad thing as shows like The Walking Dead often give out way too much before the new season starts. Ryan Murphy and FX only wanted to tease the fans with AHS and not ruin the story before it actually premiered.
