Chris Hemsworth On His ‘Thor’ Workout And Improvising In ‘Ghostbusters’

Chris Hemsworth, the Australian heartthrob, has immortalized the legendary Thor by playing the Marvel superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to News Australia, Chris has prepared himself thoroughly to resurrect the legend again in Thor: Ragnarok, the upcoming movie in the Marvel franchise.

The Australian actor has worked tirelessly to be in peak physical condition to portray Thor. This will be Chris’s third film in which he has played the iconic superhero. The film, which is being currently filmed on Australia’s Gold Coast, will give Chris Hemsworth the opportunity to show off his peak physical condition, which he has spent countless hours perfecting in the leadup to the movie. The Ghostbusters actor’s exhaustive workout and fitness regime have been impressive as the actor worked to build a physique worthy of the God of Thunder.

Recently, Chris Hemsworth was featured in a video posted on Instagram that showed him waking up his trainer with a Thor-like roar.

A screengrab of the video shows just how ripped his body is, in time for the new Thor movie.

The Thor actor has given due credit to Dr. Eric Goodman for assisting him in developing his massive physique. The actor has closely followed Dr. Goodman’s True to Form book to put himself in peak condition. In fact, Chris not only wrote the introductory text for Dr. Goodman’s book, but he has also incorporated techniques mentioned in the book to refine his daily workouts and movements.

Chris Hemsworth’s portrayal of Thor has made him an icon amongst his fans. However, Chris himself is a big fan of 80’s movies like Willow, The Breakfast Club, and Ghostbusters. The actor confesses that he still feels nostalgic about these comedy and fantasy movies that entertained audiences in the 1980s. Born in 1983, the Australian actor grew up on the 80s classics which have played a major role in shaping both his sense of humor and his acting style. Despite his penchant for comedy, Chris rarely had the opportunity to work in a comedic role until Paul Feig, the writer and director of the latest Ghostbusters movie, spotted him performing him in a comedy scene on Saturday Night Live.

The director approached the Thor actor with the offer to work in the new Ghostbusters movie, and the actor promptly agreed to play the role of a not-so-smart Kevin, the receptionist hired by the spook-hunting team.

Chris Hemsworth admitted that he has long been a fan of the 1984 and 1989 Ghostbusters movies that featured Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson as the famous New York ghost-hunters.

Despite the lack of love for the Ghostbusters reboot so far, it has been noted by even the toughest critics that Chris Hemsworth’s clumsy character in the 2016 Ghostbusters is one of the funniest in the movie. The actor admitted that he found it tough filming the scenes that were improvised with off-the-cuff one-liners. While Chris Hemsworth feared that his scenes would be disastrous, he eventually felt comfortable delivering the dialogue while allowing himself to relax and let his comedic side come out.

According to The National, Chris Hemsworth spoke about how satisfied he was with the way the movie was shot.

“It was so liberating. It was like, ‘Ok, if it doesn’t work, it’s not my fault’ as opposed to ‘Here’s the greatest script in the world, don’t screw it up.'”

Apart from being a talented actor, Chris Hemsworth is also an excellent father. The Daily Telegraph reports that the Australian hunk was seen enjoying time with his family at local parks on the Gold Coast where his upcoming Thor: Ragnarok is being filmed.

Chris Hemsworth was spotted playing with his three children India Rose, Tristan, and Sasha at the Broadbeach Park, accompanied by his wife Elsa Pataky. The couple later threw a party at their Broadbeach mansion to which his co-stars from the upcoming Marvel movie were invited.
