WWE News: Update On Big Plans For Dana Brooke, Vince McMahon Wanting To Make Her The ‘Female Roman Reigns’

WWE is known for their hit and miss actions. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has been responsible for amazing, revolutionary material. We all know he has made genius plans that have shaped how we see pro-wrestling today. However, he has a lot of misses on his resume as well that make us wonder if he even knows what he’s doing anymore. It seems the latter is the thought among WWE fans these days.

The one thing WWE has seemed to get under control is their Women’s Division. They revamped it to not only remove the term “diva,” but they also brought back the WWE Women’s Championship and killed off the butterfly title that was universally despised by almost everyone, even a good portion of the talent. They also started to focus more on the wrestling side of things for the women and even stories have gotten better.

However, it seems that this might begin to change due to WWE management. According to Ringside News, the WWE is planning to have Dana Brooke and Charlotte eventually split after a bit of time together, resulting in a major rivalry for Brooke and her first step into something major. Initially, we all assumed Brooke would be added as Charlotte’s muscle for a while and watch her back similar to how Ric Flair had people watch his back.

That is just the short term idea, as WWE seems to have much bigger plans for Dana Brooke. Vince McMahon reportedly really likes Dana Brooke and the idea is to build her up to basically become the “female Roman Reigns” according to The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer. The weird part about this is that WWE has several talented women who would be better served to be at the top of the card over Brooke.

Dana Brooke has improved in the ring, but she is not even close to the skill level of the Four Horsewomen in Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Bayley, and, of course, Charlotte. While you cannot rely just on these four women and others have to be built up, Brooke is not really the type for this. She is a natural heel, similar to the man she’s being groomed to be the female version of. Making her a top heel in the company would make total sense. However, if they want to make her like Reigns then that will mean she will be a top babyface, despite what fans want.

The cool part nowadays is that the WWE will bring a brand split into play that they did not have before. This means if you do not like a certain star, you can watch the other show. Building Dana Brooke up is not a bad idea by the WWE, as the split means that WWE may end up needing to have two Women’s Titles eventually. Making her a top star may be harder than expected, as fans like the “wrestlers” now and not the “divas” of which Brooke represents.

To many fans, Dana Brooke represents the old era of WWE women. She’s a “WWE Diva,” who was brought in from the fitness modeling world that the company tried to train in the art of pro-wrestling. The fans don’t like women like this these days. Even the casual fans are not high on her where they at least like Roman Reigns enough to give him a shot at times.

Vince McMahon may have a difficult time getting this to fly more than any other. The reason is simply because his daughter, Stephanie McMahon, is the main reason the Women’s Division was revamped. To make your next big star of the division a person that is the literally representation of the old way would not make much sense. This is especially true when Charlotte is fantastic at what she does and Sasha Banks is considered one of the best female wrestlers on the planet. To then put the company’s women’s division on the back of someone the fans don’t like makes no sense at all.
