‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ News: Jacob Young’s Wife Has A Healthy Baby Girl–Will Rick Take a Brief Hiatus?
It’s a baby girl for The Bold and the Beautiful star, Jacob Young (Rick Forrester). The CBS soap opera star announced his daughter’s birth on Instagram shortly after her overnight delivery on March 20. Jacob revealed that his bouncing baby girl weighed 6 pounds and 11 ounces, and is in one word–perfect. The real question is, will the birth of his third child mean Rick will disappear from the soap opera for a few weeks?
“Last night at 1:51a.m. this beautiful woman @christenyoung4 gave birth to our beautiful baby girl. Grace Elizabeth Young entered the world Palm Sunday weighing in at 6pounds 11 ounces. 18 1/2? she is a beauty like her mother. I’m so proud of you Christen. I’m a blessed man.”
Jacob shared a picture of himself wearing hospital scrubs, mask and hairnet. Young looked excited about his newest arrival but looked completely tired. He hasn’t shared a photo of baby Grace yet, but the Inquisitr will share a picture of her if and when he posts one.
The new baby, Grace Elizabeth, will have lots of love surrounding her with siblings, Luke, 7, and Molly, 3. Last September, Jacob announced her pregnancy on social media and praised his wife for being an excellent spouse and loving mother. The couple married in 2007 and seemed to have built a great life together. Young takes every opportunity possible to tell the world how happy he is with his family.
Recently, Jacob moved his growing family from Hollywood to a smaller town in Utah. They made the move to remove the children from the busy life in Los Angles area and to give them a more “grounded” upbringing. Jacob explained to Soaps In Depth that in Utah, they can enjoy being outside and have neighbors that still believe in core family values.
“I want my kids to be able to explore and play in tree forts. It is something that is next to impossible in a city where everyone knows who you are, and try to take your picture wherever you go.”
Jacob debuted as Rick Forrester in 1997, and left for a few years in 1999. He was asked to return in 2011, and has been the face of Rick ever since. Young has been a part of some of the biggest storylines on The Bold and the Beautiful the past few years. The soap opera made history when they unveiled one of the core characters — Maya was actually a transgender woman. Many fans felt like he should have walked away and not married her. However, he married her despite her controversial past.

Maya asked her sister to have her baby for her, using Rick’s sperm, because she is not able to carry a child due to her transgender status. Maya told her sister that she has everything she wanted now –except a child with Avant and Spencer blood line. Her sister agreed after thinking long and hard about how a pregnancy could complicate her life. Nicole should deliver her baby in the next few months, and has the recipe for a big drama to surround the child’s birth.
The Bold and the Beautiful star is expected to take a few weeks off work. However, the soap opera fans should not worry, he promised to return. Young teased that he had a big storyline coming. He hinted that the real drama for Maya Avant (Karla Mosely) and Rick will start after Nicole (Reign Edwards) delivers the baby during May Sweeps.
