FC Barcelona on Winning Streak! Gets 6-0 Landslide During Getafe CF Match at Camp Nuo


FC Barcelona completed an amazing finish during the FC Barcelona-Getafe CF match up at Camp Nuo.

The large crowd this Sunday was not disappointed when FC Barcelona started to own the game. With the support of the home crowd, FC Barcelona continued towards their 37th unbeaten streak. Led by star player Lionel Messi’s goal and three assists, the team as able to chug in 6 goals throughout the game, according to FC Barcelona.

The team had an amazing head start as they were earning points even before halftime. Before intermission, FC Barcelona was already at a 4-0 lead. Aside from Lionel Messi, Munir El Haddadi and Neymar added their own goals, as well.

The entire Camp Nuo was on fire as Neymar and Arda Turan continued to add their quick strikes during the second half of the game. With the 6-0 scoreboard, the scores remained unchanged.

Though FC Barcelona did not have leading scorer Luis Suarez and Javier Mascherano, Jeremy Mathieu and Gerard Pique headed their defense. Aleix Vidal played as a replacement for Dani Alves. FC Barcelona midfielder was joined by Arda Turan and Sergi Roberto.

In terms of pace, the game started quite slow. FB Barcelona was trying to balance their defense as they tried to balance their opening chances. However, when Lionel Messi found an opening at 20 yards during the eighth minute of the match, he grabbed onto Jordi Alba on the left for assist. Alba then tried to find another opening and passed it on to Rodriguez who scored a goal past Getafe FC goalie Vicente Guaita.

Their next attach was quite similar in approach, but this time, Alba took a chance with Neymar. However, the game was halted with Emiliano Velazquez was filed for a yellow card and FC Barcelona was given a penalty kick. Lionel Messi took the shot, but it did not transpire into a goal. This is the eighth time this season that FC Barcelona failed to convert a penalty into a goal.

Still, the entire game was in FC Barcelona’s control. The team showed great ball control and their passes were accurate. Neymar was particularly flashy during this Camp Nuo game.

FC Barcelona captain Andres Inesta said this winning streak has been impressive.

“Thirty-seven games without losing is astonishing, and we want to extend it further. We’re going to try to keep our winning streak in the league, because it will help bring us the title.”

Iniesta also praised the great efforts of his teammates and noted that they won because they did not let their opponents “breathe” and take any leads.

Though they are at a winning streak, Iniesta said they are not underestimating their next game with Arsenal on Tuesday. He added that though they are aiming to see this through by saying, “we know that our opponents are dangerous.”

“The Arsenal game will require a 100% effort from every player. We’re excited to go through but we have a lot of respect for Arsenal.”

FC Barcelona’s right winger Aleix Vidal added that they “knew that if we pressed Getafe from the very beginning we could hurt them.” Vidal added that though he was out for seven months, he enjoyed playing the Camp Nuo game a lot. He said that he hopes their winning streak continues.

“It is true that we have gone 37 games without losing, but we don’t think about this when we play.”

FC Barcelona had 70 percent possession during the Barcelona-Getafe FC game. They got 17 total shots and 10 shots on target. Though they got 7 fouls, no one got suspended.

FC Barcelona’s next Camp Nuo game with Arsenal will be on Tuesday.
