Marinela Benea took matters into her own hands when the 40-year-old wife got so mad at her husband for not chipping in with the housework that she ripped off one of his testicles. According to the Daily Mail, Marinela caused a severe open wound in the scrotum of 39-year-old Ionel Popa, her husband, when Benea used her bare hands to rip off Popa’s testicle.
Marinela claimed she didn’t know her own strength when Benea used her hands to rip off a testicle, with Marinela seemingly not showing remorse by saying Popa deserved to have his testicles ripped off since Ionel wouldn’t help her perform household duties on International Women’s Day.
As seen in the above photo, International Women’s Day was a big event around the world that caused people to respond to International Women’s Day in a myriad of ways. There were demonstrations on International Women’s Day, such as the one pictured above in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Tuesday, March 8. In that photo, a man wore a mask of the Brazilian politician Eduardo Cunha. The speaker of the house of Congress put forth an abortion bill that would make it illegal to allow pregnant women to get an abortion — or to help in the process of abortion.

Marinela, meanwhile, used the day to grow so furious with her husband Ionel that Popa had to be rushed to the hospital for care after Marinela ripped of his left testicle. Benea is a mother of one who is now under investigation by police as Popa is said to be in stable condition after the attack.
The Daily Mail article about the testicle-ripping is going viral. First published on March 9, at 3:00 p.m. ET, it has been shared more than 14,000 times.
Not only was Marinela reportedly angered because Benea’s husband would not help her with the household chores on International Women’s Day, but also because Popa didn’t give his wife flowers for the occasion, either. The incident happened in Romania, with photos of Benea shown on the Daily Mail‘s website.
As expected, the comments flowing into the article prove how much pain Popa must’ve experienced — judging by the reactions of folks merely reading about the testicle-ripping wife.
“Crickey after reading this I’ve just run round the house with the Hoover rearranged the curtains and popped a quiche in the oven.”
Ionel came home under the influence of alcohol, said Benea, after Popa got a bottle of wine as compensation for that day’s work — instead of money. Popa made his wife keep the fire on all night due to him being cold, claims Marinela, and Benea said she agreed to not get into an argument with her husband. But by morning, Benea said she opened the curtains in their Vaslui County abode and told Popa to venture out into the northeast region of the country to get work done — or help her with the work inside the home.
Apparently, Popa wasn’t having any of that, with Marinela claiming Benea wasn’t in the position to order him around. Marinela then grabbed onto his left testicle and yanked it so hard as they argued that it ripped Popa’s skin apart. Ionel had to have emergency surgery to fix his scrotum and testicle damage.
“Ionel had been given a bottle of wine for a day’s work instead of getting paid, and had arrived home drunk. When he gets drunk, he changes. All night he made me keep the fire on because he was cold and I did it to avoid having an argument. In the morning I opened the curtains and told him to go out and do some work, or at least to help with the household chores but he shouted that I’m not entitled to give him orders.
“I told him he was not any kind of man and I grabbed his testicles. It was not my fault that he pulled away, and that’s when it happened. I thought maybe that some ice would solve the problem, but he insisted on calling an ambulance. He was pretty annoyed.”
Whether Marinela and Popa will resume their 15-year union remains to be seen. They have a 15-year-old son.
