Aussie Couple Enjoys ‘Star Wars’ Wedding In Hollywood As ‘The ‘Force Awakens’ Between Them [Video]

Two avid Star Wars fans recently tied the knot at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, home of Monday’s star-studded premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

As Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiered, two avid Australian fans were treated to a very special Star Wars wedding at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

The already highly popular new Star Wars movie premiered at the TCL Chinese Theater Monday, and the Australian couple flew out earlier this month to join the more than 130 fans camped out on Hollywood Boulevard from December 5, awaiting the much-anticipated premiere.

First of all, it took eight years for the couple to decide to finally tie the knot, and it turns out they have been planning this particular trip for 18 months, after the release of the seventh installment in the Star Wars franchise was formally announced.

According to the Daily Mail, fireman Andrew Porters, 29, tied the knot with mining company truck driver Caroline Ritter, 34, in front of a whole load of Star Wars characters, including Chewbacca, Darth Vader, R2-D2, a few Jedi knights, and a Stormtrooper. The bride wore the traditional white, and her husband was in a smart suit, while her guests all played a Star Wars role in the nuptials.

As reported by The Wrap, instead of the normal “Wedding March,” the bride headed down the red carpet aisle to the tune of the “Imperial March” played on violin. The violinist was accompanied by R2-D2 as they headed down the aisle.

The beautiful green-haired bride wore a white gown, complete with “handmade crystal X-Wing starfighters on it,” matched with an attractive white wrap around her shoulders. Her escort down the aisle was none other than Darth Vader, and the wedding was officiated by a friend of the couple, going by the name of “Obi-Shawn.”

Not to be outdone, the couple’s vows were peppered with Star Wars puns, along with a reference to another classic movie, The Princess Bride. The whole wedding was reportedly orchestrated by the TCL Chinese Theater, and the event was sponsored by Dunkin’ Donuts, which also fed the waiting campers with donuts on the morning of the wedding.

While the bride and groom were obviously beautiful and handsome respectively, and their guests so suitably kitted out, it turned out the star of the actual wedding celebration was undoubtedly the wedding cake. See the bride cut the cake in the image below.

Created by Baskin-Robbins for the couple in full Star Wars mode, the cake had layers of ice cream Stormtroopers and was topped with all the most popular classic characters in the Star Wars franchise.

Andrew Porters and Caroline (previously Ritter, now Porters), who hail from Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Australia, were then treated to a night in the honeymoon suite of a local boutique hotel… after watching, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, of course. They even went away with a $5,000 check towards a “well-deserved honeymoon.”

May the Force be with this newly married couple as they begin their Star Wars related life together. Watch the full action of the Star Wars fans’ unusual wedding in the video below.

Meanwhile, as reported on the Inquisitr, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is taking the world by storm. Not everyone is a fan, however, as Quentin Tarantino is angry after his movie, The Hateful Eight, was displaced by the extended screening of the latest Star Wars epic over the Christmas period.
