‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 5B Spoilers: Get Ready For The Underworld And Oz

Once Upon a Time ended the first half of Season 5 with the gang from Storybrooke on their way to the Underworld to try and bring back Hook. Emma was forced to make the heartbreaking decision to destroy the darkness inside Hook by killing him.

Of course, she had no idea that Rumpelstiltskin had tricked everyone. The darkness was not banished forever. It was given back to Rumple, and he is now the Dark One again. Once Emma learns this, she has no other choice – she must travel to the Underworld to rescue her love.

Fans have a bit of a wait to find out what happens next on the series, though. The second half of Season 5B will not premiere until March, but there are a lot of spoilers out about what is coming next.

The first episode of the second half of Once Upon a Time Season 5 is a big episode. It is episode 100 for the series, and that means big things will happen.

Edward Kitsis teased a bit about the direction for the next batch of episodes to Entertainment Tonight.

“I think the second half of the season is that our characters are going to have to face their past — a lot of them are going to have to try and get closure on some things that have always bothered them.”

The preview for the Once Upon a Time Season 5B premiere teased that fans will see the return of some of the villains that have died throughout the series. This includes Peter Pan and Cora. In fact, Kitsis revealed to the Hollywood Reporter that Cora is the group’s “tour guide” for their visit to the Underworld. She will tell them how things work.

The preview also revealed that the Underworld will look very much like Storybrooke. It will be a destroyed version of the town, though. Cora was seen sitting in Regina’s chair, and the town looked dead during the clip.

Fans will also see more of Regina during the second half of Season 5. She has been in the background a lot during recent episodes, but that will change in the next batch. In fact, she is the focus of Adam Horowitz’s first script teaser for the Season 5B premiere.

Fans last saw Regina sending Zelena off to Oz. That will not be the last fans see of Zelena on the series, though. She will fight to get her baby back, after all, but she will cause a lot of trouble in Oz first, according to TV Line.

The news outlet reported that fans will see Oz again mid-way through Season 5B, and Dorothy Gale will return as a 20 to 30-year-old woman to battle Zelena and take back the land from her. Where will Zelena end up after Dorothy battles her? Will she make her own trip to the Underworld?

There is no word on that, but it is safe to say that Zelena is not going anywhere. She has become a favorite among fans of the show, but she has not redeemed herself yet. Can she ever become a hero? Fans will need to keep watching to find out.

Kitsis did offer one small teaser about Zelena.

“It will be soon, and we will see her return. Maybe not after the first couple episodes next year, but we’re going to see her in the middle and then she’ll be a large part of the second arc.”

There is a lot set to happen during Once Upon a Time Season 5B. Fans could see a pregnant Belle after her reunion with Rumple, according to Kitsis. How will she react once she finds out what her Dark One did?

Fans will need to wait until Once Upon a Time returns this March. Are you excited to see Emma and her group visit the Underworld?
