Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani Getting Married? Conflicting Reports Question If ‘The Voice’ Coaches Will Elope

Hold on there, Blake Shelton — Gwen Stefani proposed the idea of marriage, and Shelton said it was a good idea? Can this story be true?

Turns out, it depends on who you believe. According to an InTouch magazine insider, the story is absolutely true, and it went something like this.

“Blake asked [Gwen] what she was thinking and Gwen just blurted out, ‘Let’s get married!’ Blake didn’t even blink and said, ‘Let’s do it’! That’s how it started and now they’re not looking back.”

The InTouch insider adds that the ideal of a big wedding sounds like too much for the Voice coaches, so Gwen and Blake have decided to elope.

“The thought of planning an actual big wedding celebration is the last thing either of them would ever want to do, so they’ve agreed that just disappearing for a few weeks would be ideal. They’re thinking someplace very laid-back and tropical, like Mexico.”

Sounds ideal, right? Not according to Gossip Cop — the media outlet indicates that “the InTouch marriage tale is untrue.” The website reports as follows.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are NOT getting married, despite a new tabloid cover story wrongly claiming they plan to elope as soon as her divorce is finalized. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the report. A rep tells us the allegation is false.…While taking a vacation together is certainly not out of the realm of possibility, there won’t be any trip for the purpose of eloping.”

Reports of a Gwen Stefani-Blake Shelton relationship were confirmed about a month ago after the Voice co-coaches were spotted cozying up at a Halloween party, and rumors have swirled around their whirlwind romance ever since. Most reports indicate that the couple are over-the-moon happy together, though a few media members have questioned whether Gwen and Blake’s relationship is even real.

Together or apart, the love lives of Stefani and Shelton have received a lot of press throughout the past year. In July, Shelton split from Miranda Lambert after more than four years of marriage. In August, Stefani announced a divorce of her own: She split from Gavin Rossdale, her husband of more than 13 years.

If most media reports are to be believed, the No Doubt singer and the country superstar have been inseparable since they began dating. Reports of their PDA — both on the set of the NBC competition show and in public — have flooded the internet, as have stories of the couple FaceTiming constantly.

The same media reports would have fans believe that Blake Shelton’s former wife is wallowing in heartache, but Miranda Lambert says that’s not exactly the case. Five months after they announced their split, the “The House That Built Me” singer has finally spoken out about the divorce, telling fans not to take sides in the split because “there ain’t a side” to take.

“We are real people with real lives and real s**t. We’re both very honest. This is what it is now, and we’re moving forward. We don’t need all the opinions. We just need y’all to be supportive, and nobody pick a side — because there ain’t a side.”

Lambert went on to say that she and Blake have both moved on from the relationship and are still on friendly terms.

If the InTouch report is to be believed, Blake has moved on to the next committed relationship much more quickly than Miranda has.

What do you think? Do you think Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani could really be considering marriage — and elopement? Why or why not?
