Chris Martin Opens Up About Divorcing Gwyneth Paltrow

In the past few days, Chris Martin has been open about his divorce from Gwyneth Paltrow. The two were married for 10 years, and only now is Martin publicly talking about their divorce, which was finalized in 2015.

Martin has gotten candid in an interview with Ryan Seacrest about his rough time. Although they seem to be on the same page with co-parenting, it was still a tough transition for the Coldplay frontman to make. Opening up to Seacrest, the rocker said that the two “tried really hard” to stick together despite their problems.

“Just because a romantic relationship ends doesn’t mean that the other facets of your relationship have to end or, indeed, doesn’t mean they can’t get better.”

As the Inquisitr reported, Martin got even more candid about his state of mind during his difficult time, ahead of his Ryan Seacrest interview. The singer spoke to EDayFM’s Rove and Sam about his outlook on his life and how it changed dramatically while he was going through his divorce.

“I went through some big changes… everyone knows about them.”

It sounds like some of his divorce was a blessing in disguise as he said that it allowed him to “figure out where I’ve gone wrong in my way of looking at the world.”

Speaking about how his life changes have influenced the new Coldplay album, Martin said, “That may sound a little simple, but I suddenly feel very grateful to be alive and if it’s coming across that’s great to hear.”

Gwyneth Paltrow had a similar struggle, but also dealt with the backlash their phrase “conscious uncoupling” received after their announcement. During a Q&A in New York for the BlogHer15 conference, the star said the reaction was “hurtful” and then later on joked that when they announced their plans to co-parent they “broke the f***ing Internet.”

She also spoke about balancing their new relationship together. “I think, unfortunately, though we couldn’t stay in a romantic relationship, we’re very, our values are very much around the importance of family and the importance of those relationships and I’m lucky that we’re aligned in that way. And it’s been hard, and you know, like, we’ve gone through really difficult times with it, but we’ve always said these children are our priority.”

When they made the announcement that they were separating, the exes said,

“It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.”

As for moving on, after a year of rumors, she finally made her relationship with Glee co-producer Brad Falchuk official with an Instagram photo via Flachuk’s account. The two attended the premiere of Scream Queens, which he has a hand in.

As for Chris Martin’s personal life, he rebounded with Jennifer Lawrence for a year before they decided to call it quits. Now it looks like Martin is dating Peaky Blinders actress Annabelle Wallis. According to TMZ, the two were spotted kissing and dancing in Paris. No word on what Paltrow thinks of Wallis, but when Martin was dating Lawrence, she was very supportive and cool about it. How progressive!
