Adele Gets Set To Make Her Acting Debut, Rumors Say It May Be Sooner Than You Think

Adele is currently the undisputed reigning queen of the music industry as her return from that three-year hiatus continues to bear record yielding fruit.

The songstress’ “Hello” continues to be a chart topper, and has even inspired multiple remakes and renditions and even a recent twitter trend called the #Hellochallenge. However, it seems that now the musically gifted mother has set her sights on a whole new task, acting, and she plans on doing it with Mr Jon Snow himself. Hello, Hollywood? Adele’s is wondering if you would like to meet.

Her 2013 James Bond tune, “Skyfall,” is as close as Adele has chosen to get to the acting world in the past, and she cleared a path through award season then, managing to snag an Oscar on the way.

With this year’s award season within sight, “Hello” is already set to start cleaning up too, especially since it has already broken the glass ceiling on the day it debuted with the VEVO video receiving 27.7 million views within 24 hours of its release. Adele effortlessly ended the reign of Taylor Swift’s star-studded “Bad Blood” video that had held the record of most views in a single day with a total of 20.1 million.

Adele actually admitted that she never thought of acting before her 2015 “Hello” director Xavier Dolan got her into the spirit. The French-Canadian seemed to have known just what buttons to press to get Adele in peak acting condition and totally has a knack for getting Adele to do a little acting.

USA Today wrote that during an interview for a British radio program, the 25-year-old singer gave claim to being inspired to do some more acting thanks to her “Hello” video, and chances are pretty high that Hollywood’s casting directors will be fairly chomping at the bit to get her in a movie studio. Of course, they are urged to hurry up and cast her before she disappears again.

“I’m sure I’ll get some flak for this, but I actually would like to act after working with Xavier. I would be in a film for him, definitely.”

It now seems that Adele is a woman of her word as rumors abound that Dolan has taken Adele up on those words about acting and being in a movie for him. The two will reportedly team up once more for the wunderkind’s newest project following the heart wrenching short movie that was the “Hello” music video.

The director is still only 26-years-old, but he already has six films under his belt. The upcoming film will be called The Death and Life of John F. Donovan. Xavier Dolan will, once more, be writing and producing the film and with claims that Adele will be making a cameo and her acting debut, it seems this film may already be down for raking in some awards too. Reports state that there will be no singing on Adele’s part, and while many scratch their heads at Dolan for not utilizing Adele’s triple-threat skill-set as a writer, singer, and actor, it can be presumed that the director has his reasons.

Vanity Fair did report that fans would get the chance to see a bit more acting from Adele in the very near future. Adele is reportedly scheduled to make an appearance on an upcoming Saturday Night Live episode, which is scheduled to air on November 21. Although she is technically the musical guest, her expressed interest in acting just might lead show writer’s to try and pitch her a few characters. Even if she does take that bait the world is hoping they give her, Dolan will still have the last laugh.

The Death and Life of John F. Donovan will also include Kit Harrigton amongst its cast members. Kit is more widely known as Game of Thrones‘ very own Jon Snow, and surely Adele can get him to say “Hello from the other side” of the death in which the series is telling the world he suffered from.

The John F. Donovan cast will also includes other A-listers, such as Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates, and Jessica Chastain. The Death And Life Of John F. Donovan is about an American movie star whose correspondences with an 11-year-old pen pal, who is also an actor, become public and causes him to face accusations that threaten his career.

While we wait for Adele to join the acting world, we can look forward to Adele’s new album, 25, which is scheduled for release on November 20. Any film that does have Adele adding acting to her resume is sure to be one major success though; well played Dolan.
