Veterans Day 2015: Where to Eat Free and Get Great Discounts

Veterans Day 2015 is here, and, of course, that means a ton of freebies. If you are a veteran, you can find great discounts and even free meals all week long. USA Today actually shared some of the best free stuff you can get for Veterans Day 2015. This year, Veterans Day actually falls on a Wednesday, which is November 11, and this is the best day to get free food, but a few places are offering their specials on other days.

If you work it right, you could eat free all day long. iHop is offering free pancakes that are red, white and blue. This is for veterans and active duty personal, and you can get the from 7 a.m. up until 7 p.m. Denny’s offer is only from 5 a.m. until 11 a.m., and it is for your own grand slam breakfast. Starbucks is giving their offer to active duty service members, veterans, and military spouses, which is a free traditional tall brewed coffee.

When it comes time for Veterans Day lunch and dinner, there are several options. Ruby Tuesday is offering a free appetizer, Panera Bread is giving out a free “you pick two” meal, and Hooters is offering a free meal all day. The Hooters Veterans Day meal is called a “thank you” meal, so it is probably whatever they select, or there are just a few that you can choose from on their menu. Applebee’s has a menu that veterans can choose a free meal from as well. Olive Garden is also set up this way, but they are also giving family members who eat with the Veteran a 10% discount on their meal.

Golden Corral is offering their free meal for veterans this year as well. Their free meal has not always been on Veterans Day, but this year it is on November 11, so make sure you don’t miss it. This is not all day and is just from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Veterans Day. Red Robin will have a free burger and fries for veterans that day as well.

The Military Wallet also shared a few more places that are offering freebies for Veterans Day 2015. Bonanza Steakhouse is offering a free buffet for veterans. Carraba’s is giving away a free appetizer all week long with a military ID. City Barbeque is giving away a free sandwich platter at select restaurants. Glory Days is offering a free appetizer or boneless wings.

If you are looking for freebies that aren’t meals, Great Clips is handing out free haircut cards for veterans, and the offer is good until December 31. Menchies and Orange Leaf are offering a free frozen yogurt, which would make a great treat. Colonial Williamsburg offers free weekend-long admission tickets to active-duty military, reservists, retirees, veterans, and their immediate dependents from Thursday, November 7 through Monday, November 11th. You can also get free admission to the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina on Veterans Day. National Parks are free for everyone on Veterans Day weekend, not just for veterans.

At this time, there are a lot of places that offered free food for Veterans Day in 2014 that have not shared if they are doing the same in 2015. You will want to check before you go to make sure that they have the same offer and that you are bringing anything you need to prove that you are military. Most of these offers are not available to dependents, but only to the service member. There are a lot of great free offers available this Veterans Day so make sure that you enjoy a nice day out while you are thanked for your amazing service to this great country.
