Liam Payne, Sophia Split Official, But Where Will He Live In 2016?

Liam Payne and Sophia Smith are making it public that the fairer days of their romance have passed — but what will become of Liam Payne and where will he live now that One Direction is parking their tour bus?

Around October 26, media sources like People started to announce that there were rumors Liam Payne and Sophia Smith had split — but nothing was official.

Sadly for fans who wished that Liam Payne and Sophia would stay together forever, it simply wasn’t meant to be. While there is always a chance they will reunite again in the future, Liam Payne has made it clear that things are over between the two of them — for now.

On November 1, the Sun officially announced that the relationship between Sophia and Liam Payne has reached a conclusive chapter. In an exclusive interview, Liam Payne explained his breakup details with the following.

“I’m absolutely devastated to have split with Sophia. Being on the tour all this year and being away from her was so hard. We spent so much time apart… But in order to do right by somebody sometimes it’s better not to do what your heart wants, but to do what’s better for them.”

Liam Payne concluded his interview by saying, “Right now I’m looking forward to some alone time to figure out who I am and what I want to be.”

Obviously, to get as much alone time as possible, the decision Liam Payne will have to make next is where to live.

Clearly, the mansion that Liam Payne bought in Surrey in January might still be an option. According to SugarScape, the £5.1 million mansion has a ballet studio, cinema, swimming pool, a tennis court, and a sophisticated security system.

Despite reports that Sophia Smith might live there with him, it was never reported that she ever visited Liam Payne’s Surrey home at all. In fact, Liam Payne may have never lived there himself in the first place and might have purchased it as an investment.

However, there are a couple of other housing options for Liam Payne as well. For instance, he could return home to Wolverhampton, where everyone misses Liam Payne very much.

According to the Express and Star, around October 10, it was reported that in the past year that Liam Payne’s family has only seen him “in Brussels in June, California in July and Orlando for a family holiday in August.”

They also state, “Liam’s father Geoff said the family’s time with Liam became sparser – and more precious as a result.”

Interestingly, in addition to returning to his parental home in Wolverhampton, there is another option for Liam Payne’s housing in Scotland. Around October 19, the Scottish Daily Record reported the following.

“Stumped at what to get her multi-millionaire brother, Liam’s older sister Ruth bought him one-square-foot [plot] of Keil Hill estate, in Glencoe Wood, Argyll [in Scotland].”

It can be assumed that gifting him with this teeny plot of land might have been what prompted Liam Payne to buy his sisters and parents a house in Wolverhampton about six months later, according to the Mirror.

In the end, no matter where he decides to live, it is likely that Liam Payne will always have a long list of ways to get cheered up by those around him.

For instance, Liam Payne’s father started dancing at their last “On the Road Again” tour concert in Sheffield, U.K. on October 31. MTV News reports that “near the end of ‘Act My Age,’ Liam’s dad suddenly flew down the aisle near the runway with an entire conga line behind him. Yeah. It was strange and entirely unexpected and awesome.”

Of course, Liam Payne also has no trouble being amused by himself. On October 29, the lovelorn Liam tweeted a video of himself hinting about an upcoming song on Made In The A.M. called “Olivia.”

Liam Payne captioned the video with, “I shouldn’t really be doing this but…! #MadeInTheAm Happy Thursday.”

Naturally, Liam Payne’s friends in One Direction will be around to cheer him up often. For instance, Liam Payne also revealed to the Sun around November 1 that he and Louis Tomlinson would be forming a duo in 2016.
