‘Captain America: Civil War’ Trailer Release Date Revealed

With just over seven months until Captain America: Civil War is released into cinemas, it’s safe to assume that we will get our very first trailer for the hugely-anticipated blockbuster in the very near future.

But how close are we to our first look at Civil War? Well, the safe bet is on it coming to our screens in December. But there have also been rumors that it could come as soon as next week.

Earlier this week, the Russian theatre chain Cinema Park used their Russian social media website VK, via Comic Book, to reveal that the trailer for Captain America: Civil War would be airing alongside the new James Bond film Spectre when it is released in the country.

They wrote on their account, “Friends, we remind you that the official premiere of the trailer for the blockbuster, The Split Avengers, will be held November 6 and will be timed to coincide with the new James Bond film – 007: Spectrum.”

Obviously, the fact that the website referred to Captain America: Civil War as The Split Avengers, a title that would be equally as applicable to the heavily loaded blockbuster, and Spectre as Spectrum probably means that this rumor should be taken very lightly indeed.

However, there’s also another very good reason why Captain America: Civil War’s trailer won’t be released alongside Spectre. That’s because it would be rather surprising if Disney and Marvel Studios decided to boost the release of a rival studio’s main blockbuster film with a trailer for one of their biggest films.

There is actually a precedent for Disney to join their films ahead of other studios big blockbusters though. Iron Man 3’s trailer was actually released alongside Skyfall, the most recent James Bond film before the release of Spectre, while Avengers: Age Of Ultron’s was paired up with Interstellar too.

One reason to doubt this rumor is that Disney has a pretty huge release of their own coming up in the next few weeks that would be perfect for the premiere of the first Captain America: Civil War trailer.

Disney owns both Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm, which is why it would make more sense if they decided to pair Captain America: Civil War’s first trailer with the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

This is something that Collider is reporting, with their sources insisting that Captain America: Civil War’s first trailer will be aired ahead of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That would make more sense as The Force Awakens is Disney’s biggest film of 2015 while Civil War will be Disney’s biggest of 2016.

Currently, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is on course to become one of the highest-grossing movies in the history of cinema. They don’t really need to try and entice further viewers to see the seventh installment to the hugely popular franchise because everyone is excited about it being released.

However, by joining Civil War with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, there is a good chance that they could increase anticipation and the ultimate box office of the upcoming Marvel adventure. Like The Force Awakens, there is already quite a lot of hype surrounding Captain America: Civil War.

As the Russian title alluded to, that’s because Civil War will see Iron Man and Captain America going up against each other after politicians form a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to call the Avengers in to save the world. This leads Captain America and Iron Man to form their own teams and fight because of their different stances.
