‘DWTS’ Season 21: ‘Famous Dances Night’ Songs, Elimination Predictions For Week 6

Dancing with the Stars moves into its sixth week of competition on Monday night with nine celebrities hoping to avoid elimination in the quest for the season 21 Mirrorball Trophy. According to ABC, the theme for week 6 is “Famous Dances Night” with the couples performing routines based on classic movies and music videos.

After Monday night’s performances (list of dances below), one celebrity will be eliminated, leaving eight couples to move on to week 7. The October 19 elimination will be based on the couple who has the lowest combined scores from judges and fans from week 4 (“Most Memorable Year”) and week 5 (“Switch Up”) of the ballroom dance competition.

The combined scores are: Bindi Irwin (65), Carlos PenaVega (64), Nick Carter (62), Alexa PenaVega (61),
Andy Grammer (59), Hayes Grier (57), Tamar Braxton (56), Alek Skarlatos (53), and Paula Deen (44).

Who will go home on Monday night? There is speculation that Tamar Braxton, Alek Skarlatos, and Paula Deen will be in jeopardy this week because their combined week 4 and week 5 scores were the lowest on the leaderboard. However, the elimination is based on the fans votes as well, so the elimination could be a big surprise. Celebrity chef Paula Deen has a big fan base, so even though her performances didn’t bring in high scores from the judges, votes from her fans could help her remain for another week.

The dances this week will be fun to watch if you enjoy music videos or a good dance scene in a movie. There has been plenty of chatter about 17-year-old Bindi Irwin’s upcoming Dirty Dancing-themed routine with her partner Derek Hough, with Entertainment Tonight reporting that the dance partners rehearsed the movie’s iconic “water lift” scene at a lake at Franklin Canyon Park outside of Los Angeles.

After receiving a perfect score last week for her routine with Derek Hough, Alexa PenaVega will be aiming for more 10s this week. Hopefully she has the same luck this week when she dances to Britney Spears’ “I’m A Slave 4 U” with Mark Ballas.

Here’s the full line-up of week 6 dances courtesy of ABC:

Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold – “Jailhouse Rock” from Jailhouse Rock

Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas – “I’m A Slave 4 U” by Britney Spears

Andy Grammer and Allison Holker – “Good Morning” from Singing In The Rain

Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough – “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” from Dirty Dancing

Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson – “Pony” from Magic Mike

Hayes Grier and Emma Slater – “You’re The One That I Want” from Grease

Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess – “You Should Be Dancing” from Saturday Night Fever

Paula Deen and Louis van Amstel – “Vogue” by Madonna

Tamar Braxton and Valentin Chmerkovskiy – “Rhythm Nation” by Janet Jackson

This week’s guest judge is Grammy Award-winning singer and actress Olivia Newton-John, who will join Julianne Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli. Newton-John, 67, tells Us Weekly that she is “really excited” to judge this week’s show and “can’t wait to see their routines.”

“I’m really excited to have been asked to be a guest judge. I love watching the show and I’m always amazed by the grace and athleticism of all the dancers. I can’t wait to see their routines.”

WetPaint reports that co-host Erin Andrews is “taking a mini break” from DWTS to cover the World Series on FOX Sports. Host Tom Bergeron won’t have to host the show alone — Leah Remini, who danced with Tony Dovolani on season 17, will be Tom’s co-host on Monday night.

Watch the Dancing with the Stars “Famous Dances Night” at 8 p.m. ET on ABC on Monday, October 18.
