WWE News: Erick Rowan Teasing Return To WWE Television?

With Night of Champions rapidly approaching, one wrestler who has been rumored to return has emerged from his swamp to tease a potential reappearance on WWE television in the near future.

Former member of the Wyatt Family, Erick Rowan, took to Twitter and put out a couple of cryptic tweets.

WWE fans have not seen Rowan in action since late June. He suffered a torn bicep and was expected to be out of action for approximately six months, as originally reported by PWInsider. Therefore, if Rowan does return to the squared circle later this month, he would be ahead of schedule.

Prior to going down to the injury, Rowan had just reunited with former Wyatt Family member Luke Harper. The bearded duo seemed prime to go on a dominating run, likely capturing WWE Tag Team championship belt at some point. Not only were they going to be a tag team, but there were also several rumors of the entire Wyatt Family reuniting.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the original idea was for Rowan and Harper to reunite with Bray Wyatt. At SummerSlam, the trio would have faced Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Sting in a highly promoted six-man tag team match.

Now, the plan is for Reigns, Ambrose, and a mystery partner to face the new Wyatt Family, which consists of Bray Wyatt, Harper and new member, “The Black Sheep” Braun Strowman. Considering Rowan’s history with the Wyatt Family, it appears that he would be the prime candidate to be the mystery partner.

However, the fact that Rowan had just aligned himself with Harper prior to his injury, it would be questionable to have him abandon Wyatt and Harper and join forces with Reigns and Ambrose. One rumored potential angle has been Rowan, who wears the white sheep mask joining Reigns and Ambrose to face Strowman, who wears the black sheep mask. But that is pure speculation.

One name that is being rumored to be the mystery partner is NXT standout, “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin. An image that was temporarily displayed on WWE.com yesterday showed Corbin as the mystery partner, standing alongside Reigns and Ambrose. While it’s unclear if Corbin is the scheduled surprise, the image could be a good indicator.

It remains to be seen who the partner will be as WWE could go in several different direction. But it’s likely a safe bet that Rowan will be tied into the current feud at some point.
