'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Photo - Finn And Chewbacca In Awesome Image

Peter Mayhew shared a very cool Star Wars: The Force Awakens photo on Twitter, which shows Finn (John Boyega) and Chewbacca, a role reprised by Mayhew.

As the Star Wars: The Force Awakens release date nears -- and it can't come soon enough -- we keep getting more tidbits of information here and there. Perhaps one of the coolest thing this time around is that we have social media, which gives fans access to an incredible amount of photos and other interesting details shared by the film's stars.

Some SPOILERS could be revealed in this article. Beware!

Following San Diego Comic Con we got a lot of new images with that super cool behind-the-scenes video released by Lucasfilm for the occasion. We also got a lot of photos from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel, which was so very exciting for fans who got to see new and original cast members come on stage.

Thanks to Peter Mayhew we now have a look at a very cool photo, which shows Finn -- one of the new characters -- and Chewbacca fighting off...who? Check it out.

Not too much is known about how the newcomers fit into the story we know and love. Boyega is joined in Star Wars: The Force Awakens by co-stars Daisy Ridley (Rey), Oscar Isaac (Pom Dameron), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), and others. Since we have been informed that we should throw all that we now about canon out the window for this new trilogy, it is unclear how each of these characters fit into the storyline.

Despite the fact that anything goes for The Force Awakens, we can assume the story of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) will have some influence in the events director J.J. Abrams will bring to the big screen in December.

Nobody really knows how Finn and Chewbacca come to be in the same shot for this particular image, but from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer we know Boyega plays a renegade Stormtrooper who meets the scavenger, Rey, in the desert-like planet, Jakku. They are seen together escaping an attack and have been photographed by the Annie Leibovitz sitting together in the Millennium Falcon, so somehow, Finn and Rey band with Han and Chewbacca.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the very reliable website Making Star Wars reveals the Han Solo plotline has not changed from what happened 30-years earlier in Return of the Jedi. Han is down on his luck and has lost the Millennium Falcon, which would explain Harrison Ford saying, "Chewie, we're home" in the trailer.

What do you think is going on in this Star Wars: The Force Awakens photo of Finn and Chewbacca?
