Katy Perry And John Mayer Reunite At Grateful Dead Concert

Katy Perry didn’t just spend her Fourth of July watching fireworks. To make sure that she didn’t spend Independence Day as an independent woman, she tried to reignite an old flame. Unfortunately, she didn’t have to resort to using her sparkler bra on John Mayer.

TMZ shared a photo of Katy Perry and John Mayer checking out the Grateful Dead’s Fourth of July concert in Chicago, and the pale pop partners looked very grateful to be back together. Katy held John close by standing behind him and putting her arms around his waist, and he held her hand. The on-again, off-again couple are seemingly giving their roller coaster romance another chance.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Katy Perry and John Mayer’s latest split happened back in March. At the time, sources close to the couple gave a long list of reasons why they just couldn’t make it work: Katy was too busy touring, John was falling out of love with her, and Katy had trust issues. Perhaps the couple finally hashed things out under the romantic haze of hash smoke at the Grateful Dead’s reunion concert.

According to E! News, Katy Perry and John Mayer’s rocky romance first got rolling in August 2012, shortly after Katy and Russell Brand finalized their divorce. Katy and John’s first major split happened in March 2013, but they were back together by June of the same year. They broke up again in February 2014, and they managed to stay apart for almost a year before dramatically letting Hollywood know that they were back together in January 2015. According to Page Six, Katy and John shocked a room full of celebrities into silence when they arrived together, arm-in-arm, at a party at Hollywood’s Tower Bar.

Katy Perry has made it no secret that she wants to be with John Mayer for a very long time. During a 2013 interview with Billboard, she talked about being with her “Who You Love” collaborator until he dies.

“He literally is a genius, as is evident from his songwriting. I always tell him, ‘Darling, you know I’m going to have to give your mind to science after you’ve passed, because we’re going to have to understand how all these sparks work.'”

Katy might not understand how those brain sparks work just yet, but now that the “Firework” singer has re-sparked her romance with John, she can take comfort in knowing that she has a little more time to try to figure him out.

Do you think Katy Perry and John Meyer will figure out how to create everlasting fireworks this time, or will they fizzle out and need to be re-sparked like they always have in the past?
