‘Big Bang Theory’ Season 9: Major Penny Spoiler Revealed?
With Season 8 of the Big Bang Theory wrapped up, it’s time to start speculating on Season 9 potential spoilers. And even though fans are still reeling from the unexpected season finale involving Sheldon and Amy, there’s a different plot line involving Kaley Cuoco’s character, Penny, that many fans won’t see coming.
According to MoviePilot, it’s possible that Penny may be related to one of the characters because her surname has yet to be revealed on the show. And even though the article mentioned that creator Chuck Lorre divulged her apparent surname, Barrington, in an interview, the fact that it has never been mentioned on the show leaves room for this potential plot line to unravel for Cuoco’s character.
It is, of course, highly unlikely that Penny is related to her beau on the show, Leonard, played by Johnny Galecki. The article recounted how much chemistry he and Kaley Cuoco had when filming their first romantic encounter, with Kaley mentioning that “the cameras and the live audience all went away” when they filmed the scene.
Speculation aside, Big Bang Theory Season 9 will most assuredly have to deal with the crushing cliffhanger involving Jim Parsons’ Sheldon Cooper and Mayim Bialik’s Amy. Amy dumped Sheldon at the end of the Season 8 finale, with Sheldon holding what was presumably an engagement ring in his hand. But Bialik told the L.A. Times that fans shouldn’t immediately jump to the conclusion that Sheldon was going to propose to Amy.
“We don’t really know what the story is with that ring,” Bialik said. “And I think that’s something I had to remember as an actor. We don’t know what he was planning to do with it. We don’t know if it was something he got from his mother. We don’t know what the process was by which he acquired that and what he would think to do with it.”
“People want to jump to all sorts of conclusions,” Bialik continued, “because it’s super-exciting to do so and they love these characters and they know them. But the neat thing about our show… and Jim and my character’s relationship is that anything can happen. And I think the finale was proof of that.”
And while Mayim’s character chose Skype to breakup with Sheldon Cooper, Bialik defended the decision, as reported by Inquisitr.
“[It] felt completely appropriate for our characters,” the actress said.
Big Bang Theory Season 9 will air in September on CBS.
