Phil Spector Guilty of Murdering Lana Clarkson


Phil Spector was found guilty for the 2003 murder of Lana Clarkson earlier today in an L.A. Court and he could spend the rest of his life in jail.

The jury found Spector, 69, guilty of second degree murder after a 5 month long retrial. The first trial ended with jurors reached a deadlock in September 2007. In the second trial, the jury was given the option to have Spector convicted of a lesser charge of manslaughter.

Lana Clarkson, a 40 year old actress, died when she was shot in the mouth. The shooting occured in Spector’s mansion on February 3rd 2003 in the Alhambra area of Los Angeles, CA. Spector had only met Clarkson a few hours before the shooting at a nightclub in Hollywood. Spector’s attorneys tried to convince the jury that Clarkson committed suicide after becomming depressed about her failing career.

Phil Spector’s sentencing will happen on May 29/09.
