‘Death House’: The Horror Version Of ‘The Expendables’ Is Coming – Who Else Could Be In It?

For years, fans have wanted the icons of horror to appear together in a film. It happened in the action world with The Expendables, and they’ve already gotten three films out of it with more to come. Now, Death House is on the way and there are already a lot of big names in it, but more are on the way.

Bloody-Disgusting reported that Death House is apparently on the way, and it’s going to bring about some of the greatest horror minds ever. So far, this is the way the cast looks and who they have been in the past.

Robert Englund – Freddy Krueger and starred in countless others
Gunnar Hansen – Leatherface and starred in countless others
Sid Haig – Captain Spaulding in House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects
Kane Hodder – Jason, Victor Crowley, and starred in countless others
Dee Wallace – Starred in Cujo, The Howling, Critters, and more
Ken Foree – Starred in Dawn of the Dead, The Devil’s Rejects, and countless others
Bill Moseley – Otis in House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects
Doug Bradley – Pinhead and starred in countless others
Danny Trejo – Starred in Machete, From Dusk Till Dawn, and countless others
Michael Berryman – Starred in The Hills Have Eyes, The Devil’s Rejects, and many more
Barbara Crampton – Starred in Re-Animator, Chopping Mall, and more

So, if this ends up being totally true, then the movie will have Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, Captain Spaulding, Pinhead, and Otis starring together. That’s just an insane amount of talent and fan freak out all in one place.

Jay Black is writing the film along with Gunnar Hansen, Harrison Smith, and Brian Herzlinger. Smith and Herzlinger are going to be directing Death House which is shooting for a release date of October 20 — just in time for Halloween.

As for the plot? IMDb has a write-up of what Death House will be about.

“The Four Horsemen are the most notorious serial killers of all time. Robert Englund’s weapon of choice is fire; Gunnar Hansen has an unquenchable thirst for human flesh; Bill Moseley is a surgeon, and tends to focus on mutilation and torture; and Doug Bradley shares a bond with spiders, particularly the Brown Recluse Spider, whose poison Bradley is happy to dispense among those unfortunate enough to meet him.

“All four killers are safely housed in a maximum security wing in the basement of the infamous Dodhoff Prison, aka THE DEATH HOUSE.”

There is a lot more to it, and it just sounds absolutely amazing. One thing is that many online have been overly skeptical of it actually happening, but Harrison Smith decided to comment on it.

Unfortunately, a lot of the info that is on IMDb is “out of date” according to him. Bloody-Disgusting reached out to him and Smith said that it’s based on a reworked script from Hansen that is very different from what IMDB states.

In Smith’s own words, it’s “Assault on Precinct 13 meets Jurassic Park without the dinosaurs.” He also said this is not a “gimmick film” with a lot of horror movie stars, and Death House won’t be a straight-up horror movie but one that is “dark, nasty, and gore soaked.”

Do not expect “satire or tongue in cheek.” In other words, this movie is not going to be for the faint or heart or those with a weak stomach in any sense of the imagination.

Harrison Smith did say that Death House is happening, and that it is a “powerhouse horror script” and that it’s going to be a “kicka** horror film.” Fans can’t ask for anything more than that from a horror version of The Expendables that is long overdue.
