WWE News: Kane To Win ‘Money In The Bank’ Ladder Match?

The Money in the Bank pay-per-view always seems to be one of the most exciting WWE pay-per-views that takes place, mostly because the winner of the Money in the Bank ladder match is pretty much guaranteed to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion whenever he cashes in his contract.

Over the years we’ve seen some of WWE’s most memorable cash-ins — from Edge cashing in the very first Money in the Bank contract on John Cena back at New Year’s Revolution in 2005, to Seth Rollins cashing in his contract on both Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns at this past year’s WrestleMania, and winning his very first WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

One of the great things about the Money in the Bank ladder match is that nobody really knows what to expect. Well, except for this year.

At the Elimination Chamber special event on the WWE Network, WWE announced six participants for the Money in the Bank ladder match — Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Neville, Kofi Kingston, Sheamus, and Dolph Ziggler. Almost immediately, everyone assumed that Roman Reigns would be winning the match, and, it’s easy to see why. Well, it appears that WWE is trying to throw a curveball at the fans, because this past Thursday night on SmackDown, it was announced that Kane was added to the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Over the past several months, Kane has been at-odds with his Authority teammate and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, and the idea is to really tease the fact that Kane will win the Money in the Bank briefcase, and be on Rollins heels for the next several months. But, unfortunately for them, it probably won’t work because most people are going to assume that — no matter what — Roman Reigns is winning the ladder match.

With the addition of Kane to the match, it brings the field to seven superstars, so it’s likely that WWE will add an eighth superstar to the mix to bring it up to an even number. Some people have thrown out the idea of Finn Balor being added. As for other names, well, there haven’t really been any rumors, so, Balor could end up being the final man added to the match.

WWE is planning on having Kane and Rollins wrestle eventually, so, maybe they are planning on having Kane with the Money in the Bank briefcase. But, making Kane the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at this point in his career wouldn’t really serve a purpose, so, it’s very likely that Kane’s purpose in the match is to make people think that Roman Reigns won’t be winning the briefcase.
