Sharon Osbourne Takes Time Off From ‘The Talk’ Because Of Exhaustion

Sharon Osbourne has been a fixture on CBS’s The Talk, along with four other co-hosts for several years. She has decided to take a month off from the popular daytime talk show because of exhaustion.

The 62-year-old host collapsed from mental and physical fatigue, according to People Magazine.

Osbourne was hospitalized earlier this year for pneumonia, but her doctors now say she returned to work too soon. Not only that, but after she got out of the hospital, she did not curtail her activities. For instance, she has traveled to Toronto and New York.

TIME has reported that the active host has been advised that she needs to take a month off from her job to recover fully from exhaustion.

“Sharon would like to thank everyone at The Talk for granting her this time off and to all friends, family, and others for their incredible support.”

The Talk will have to manage without Sharon for at least a month. Other qualified women will sit in for Sharon during her absence. Her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, sat in for Sharon last March when Sharon was in the hospital for pneumonia. Kelly will probably do so again on some of the days while her mother is resting.

This is not the first time Sharon has had a bout with illness. She battled colorectal cancer in 2002, and had a double mastectomy three years ago after discovering she carried the gene that predisposed her to breast cancer.

Sharon has always been in the spotlight. She is a television host, media personality, television talent competition judge, author, music manager, businesswoman, promoter, and the wife of heavy metal singer-songwriter Ozzy Osbourne.

The talented co-host first became well-known after appearing on The Osbournes, a reality television show that followed her family’s daily life. Sharon later became a talent judge on shows such as the British and American versions of The X Factor, from 2004 to 2007; before returning in 2013, and America’s Got Talent from 2007 until 2012. Then she has been a constant on The Talk with Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Aisha Tyler, and Sheryl Underwood.

The Osbourne family was in the news last April when there was talk about a return of the reality television show that made the entire family famous. With Sharon’s exhaustion, that may not happen until she has had time to get enough rest to the satisfaction of her doctors.
