WWE News: WWE Championship Match Set For ‘Elimination Chamber’

The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view will take place on May 31, and for the first time ever, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship won’t be defended inside the Chamber. However, that does not mean that the WWE Title won’t be defended at all, as a championship match was announced on tonight’s RAW during the “Seth Rollins, Architect of a Dream” segment.

Tonight’s RAWopened up with Triple H and the return of Stephanie McMahon, and, after they announced that the Intercontinental Championship would be defended inside the Elimination Chamber on May 31, they said that they would pay tribute to the reigning, defending WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins, in a segment called “Seth Rollins, Architect of a Dream.” They also said that Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, and Dean Ambrose would have to go to the back of the line, because they wouldn’t be getting a WWE Championship match any time soon.

During the final segment of the show, which was the Seth Rollins tribute segment, each member of The Authority, including Kane, showed their appreciation for the WWE Champ. Well, except for Joey Mercury, who was interrupted by Dean Ambrose, who demanded that The Authority book Seth Rollins vs. himself for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. At first, The Authority refused, and ordered Seth to attack Ambrose, which he did.

In the midst of the brawl, J&J Security and Kane got involved. Ambrose fought them off, grabbed Rollins, and placed his head on a bunch of cinder blocks near the announcer’s table, which was reminiscent of when Rollins Curb-Stomped Ambrose through a stack of cinder blocks last summer. As Ambrose held Rollins down, he demanded that The Authority give him a title shot, which forced Stephanie McMahon to make the match between Rollins and Ambrose at Elimination Chamber.

As the show went off the air, Ambrose laid out Kane. Earlier in the show, Ambrose was seen backstage telling Kane that Paul Bearer would be disappointed in him, and that The Undertaker is probably disappointed in him, which lead to Kane booking a match between Ambrose and Bray Wyatt, which Bray Wyatt won with an assist from J&J Security.

So, as of right now, the WWE Title match at Elimination Chamber is a one-on-one match between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. However, more participants and stipulations may be added later.
