After Us Weekly released a cover photo of the imprisoned Teresa Giudice with her family, taken from the prison visitation center, at least one of her The Real Housewives of New Jersey co-stars have seen the photo and has some thoughts about it. On Friday, the website Real Mr. Housewife reported what Amber Marchese, who joined the show last season and in one episode memorably cried over Teresa’s predicament, thought about Teresa posing with her husband and four daughters for the magazine.
“I am really torn to the right answer to that and I am going to err on the side of, thank God I am not in that position. In one aspect, I think they should protect the privacy of the children at all cost. Some things are better left private so no judgments or ridicule could be made. On the other hand, this could be about survival. Doing what needs to be done to financially help the family.”
The cover photo shows Teresa wearing a green prison jumpsuit. Her hair, typically sleek-straight and long on the show, is curly and short. She has makeup on, especially eye liner and lipstick. Inside the issue are photos of Joe at home with their daughters.
While Amber Marchese has some reservations about the photos, Teresa Giudice herself apparently loves them. On Friday, E! News reported that Teresa’s lawyer, James L. Leonard, showed the magazine to Teresa. The attorney told the website that Teresa’s thrilled with the photos.
“I met with Teresa today and brought the magazine to show her. She was extremely happy with it. She got very emotional and actually started to cry when she saw the photos of Joe at home with the girls.”
According to the attorney, Teresa’s also happy with the accompanying story about her life in prison and Joe’s life at home with the girls, which she believes shows her and her family for who they really are.
“Some of the stuff written about her is so ludicrous. She’s glad the truth is out there.”
As for some of the public criticism over Teresa still wearing makeup in prison, the attorney said that Teresa doesn’t let it bother her and she believes that it’s a damned-if-she-does, damned-if-she-doesn’t situation.
“She said to me, ‘If I look good, I get criticized for looking too good. If I look bad, I get criticized for looking terrible.’ Either way, she can’t win. So it really doesn’t bother her.”
It remains to be seen whether either Amber Marchese and Teresa Giudice will be returning to The Real Housewives of New Jersey. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Joe Giudice said that the “numbers would have to be very big” for Teresa to return to the show upon her prison release, while executive producer Andy Cohen said in mid-March that no one has been cast for the upcoming season yet.
