Nicholas Brendon: ‘Big Gay Love’ Actor Arrested For Mixing Pills During ALTCon Tallahassee Convention

Nicholas Brendon, the Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Big Gay Love actor, has been arrested again. According to TMZ, Brendon was arrested on Friday for mixing pills and alcohol while attending an Altcon convention in Florida.

Police were dispatched to the scene after Brendon called the cops to report that his phone and wallet were stolen. When police arrived, they found a lot more than his wallet. TMZ continues that officers noticed that Brendon had almost destroyed his hotel room — an overflowing toilet and a flipped over mattress were reported.

A further examination of his room revealed that the actor had been mixing pills and alcohol. An almost-empty pill bottle was noted.

Daily Mail reports that officers also found Brendon in soiled, feces-stained pants. Here is what the officer stated.

“While in Mr. Brendon’s presence I observed him with toothpaste all over his face and shirt, his pants were torn, he had defecated on himself and the pajama pants were wet below the knees.”

Nicholas Brendon, whose real name is Nicholas Brendon Schultz, was arrested in 2014 for a similar disturbance while attending another convention in Fort Lauderdale. In that case, the California native failed to pay for his food and drinks and his hotel room was trashed. Cops eventually charged him with felony grand theft.

Inquisitr reported last year that Nicholas Brendon has struggled with emotional problems and substance abuse for quite some time. His emotional difficulties manifested when he was just seven-years-old, when he allegedly struggled with stuttering.

In a released statement, Brendon was extremely apologetic to his fans for his unacceptable behavior.

“I apologize. Usually those words end a message like this but I am beginning with them to emphasize how much I regret disappointing my family, my fans, and myself… I make no excuse for my unacceptable behavior. For the past 5 days, I have been taking prescription pain medication to help me manage a cyst behind my knee cap…I made the poor decision to mix this prescribed medication with alcohol. The result was embarrassing and unacceptable. During this difficult time, I appreciate understanding as I pursue rehabilitation — and I value support as I earn redemption with my family, friends, and fans.”

The annual AltCon convention has been held for three years in a row. It is a convention which seeks to unite geeks and nerds all across the nation. The convention is taking place in Tallahassee, Florida, on Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15. It is being held at the North Florida Fairgrounds.
