Zayn Malik Going Solo? One Direction’s Pretty Boy To Feature On Naughty Boy’s New Album
Naughty Boy kind of confirmed Zayn Malik’s rumored solo career. He announced that the One Direction hunk will feature on his upcoming album. Naughty Boy and Zayn recently shared a photo of the pair working in a recording studio alongside singer Emeli Sande. They also been teasing about a possible collaboration on Twitter for the past few months.
Boy recently spoke to The Sun about Malik’s rumored solo project. “I can’t deny the fact that we have made music together. Zayn is going to feature on my next album.”
The Sun asked Naughty Boy about how he’s going to deal with the overreaction from 1D fans on Twitter. He doesn’t seem to mind. He just wants to focus on making music with Zayn and have a good time.
“We’re making music and having fun. This is like a side gig and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. It’s a good time for Zayn to showcase what he can really do. I don’t think that is being fully exploited with the band because there are five people and it needs to be balanced out.”
Some One Direction fans won’t be happy to hear this news. They want their beloved boyband to stick together. Meanwhile, other fans are looking to see what Malik can do on his own. After all, he’s the most popular singer out of the group alongside resident bad boy Harry Styles.
This news comes on the heels of Simon Cowell urging the boys to stay together. Naughty Boy – whose real name is Shahid Khan – said that Cowell is a huge supporter of their collaboration.
“Simon’s very happy with the song and supports the whole thing. I think mine and Zayn’s relationship is better because of our relationship with Simon. We went to his house a couple of weeks ago and just had a couple of drinks and chilled out…”
“I know Simon loves every one of them and wants them to stay together. I still think there’s nothing wrong with trying different things. They are all experimenting and dabbling but I think the band will be together for the next 20 years.”
Cowell, 55, recently said that One Direction can do solo projects as long as they don’t break up. It may sound like the music mogul still wants in on that One Direction money, but he just doesn’t want the boys to split while they’re still popular.
“You can’t knock what One Direction are doing. They’re making great records and I think that’s why they’re still so popular. I hear speculation all the time that they’re going solo. My advice is they should stay together but still do things they want as a little bit on the side.”
Zayn Malik isn’t the only guy who’s going solo these days. It’s also been rumored that Harry Styles wants to go solo as he’s trying to find his own sound. A Daily Mail report also said that Styles has taken the appropriate steps to distance himself from the group and create a new publishing company. He’s also been in the recording studio in London whenever he has the time.
The Inquisitr previously reported that Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson kept forgetting their lyrics at a recent One Direction concert. Both of the singers forgot the lyrics to their song “Stockholm Syndrome,” but it also proved that these guys don’t lip synch.
