Vanessa Minnillo & Nick Lachey Welcome Second Child, Reveal Daughter’s Full Name

Vanessa Minnillo gave birth to her second child on Monday.

After welcoming a daughter with husband Nick Lachey, the former host took to her blog, where she revealed the baby’s name, and several other details about the birth.

“She’s HERE!!!! Nick, Camden and I are SO excited to announce the birth of our sweet, beautiful baby girl, Brooklyn Elisabeth Lachey!” Vanessa Minnillo wrote on her official website on January 6. “She was born January 5th, 2015 at 5:17pm. She weighed in at 7 pounds 15 ounces, is 21 inches long and has already won over all of our hearts.”

“I have been dreaming of this moment for as long as I can remember, the day I was going to meet my little girl. A friend recently told me how magical today was going to be because it’s the day I would meet my best friend. I can’t even begin to tell you how it felt to hold her in my arms for the very first time. Mommy, Daddy and big brother Cam love you so much already, Brooklyn!”

“Thank you to everyone for your love and support, it means so much to our family,” she added.

In May 2014, Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey opened up about one another as parents.

“My wife’s maternal side is a new dynamic to her personality,” Lachey told Parents magazine, according to an Us Weekly report. “It’s definitely made her even sexier.”

Minnillo added, “I knew the man I was going to marry was not only a great man, a good friend, and a family guy, but he was going to respect and treat me well and be an amazing father and role model to our children. That’s Nick.”

Last month, Lachey spoke of fatherhood during an interview with PEOPLE Magazine.

“I love to wrestle with my son — that’s our thing,” Lachey explained. “We wrestle and tickle and just roughhouse. I can’t imagine loving a child more than I love my son, so I guess it’s just gonna be a different kind of love. I think that there’s something special about that bond between father and daughter, which I’m excited to experience first-hand.”

He also spoke of his son during a 2013 interview with the Huffington Post.

“[Love for Camden] is just all-encompassing. You would do anything for your children—not that you wouldn’t for your wife or someone else you love but there’s a sense of protectiveness and responsibility that comes with your child which you don’t feel in any other relationship. He has changed my life in every possible way.”

Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey have been married since 2011.
