Simon Cowell Wants His Son In A One Direction Music Video

Rumors surrounding the popular boy band One Direction have been circulating all over the web this week. First, there was the possibility that One Direction could be splitting up in 2015 because of Zayn Malik. Then there was news that Liam Payne could be engaged to his girlfriend Sophia Smith. Now it seems the creator and manager of One Direction, Simon Cowell, wants to put his infant son Eric in a One Direction music video.

According to Unreality TV, Simon Cowell has been encouraging his only son, Eric, to pursue a career in music. And Simon must have high hopes for that career because he’s already talking about putting the baby into a new One Direction music video with Liam, Zayn, Harry, Louis, and Niall — the boys he hand-picked to make the band.

A source close to Simon and One Direction told the Sun magazine, “Simon was saying how much Eric loves playing on his little drum set and how he is already into music. He said he’d like to see his son in a One Direction video and thinks it’d be hilarious.”

So far, no one can be sure if Simon Cowell is serious about putting Eric into a One Direction video, but he essentially has full control over the band — so whatever Simon says, goes.

“With Simon it’s always hard to tell whether he’s being fully serious,” said the source. “But you also never know what he has up his sleeve. And he is certainly accustomed to getting his own way. So don’t be surprised if the boys are not the youngest stars of their next video for a change.”

You can see footage of the future One Direction star in the YouTube video below. Little Eric can be seen playing with a set of drums just as Simon Cowell said. However, he never actually beats the drum, so it’s hard to say at this point if Eric has what it takes to be a One Direction star, or if he’ll even be interested in music.

An appearance from Simon Cowell’s son wouldn’t be the first time a One Direction music video featured a cameo. According to Metro, One Direction invited David Cameron and Danny DeVito to appear in past One Direction videos. The real question is how Simon would work the baby into the music video. Would one of the guys from One Direction have to hold the little guy? And would he get his own drum solo in a One Direction song?
