Battlefield 3 ‘Back to Karkand’ DLC gets a release date

EA and DICE previously told us that we could expect Battlefield 3‘s first DLC, ‘Back to Karkand’, at some point in December, and now we know exactly when that is.

EA announced today that ‘Back to Karkand’ will, as previously reported, release on PlayStation 3 first on December 6. PC and Xbox 360 players won’t have to wait too long for their chance to try out the recreated maps, as the map pack is due for release one week later on December 13 on both platforms.

In case this is the first you’re hearing of this map pack, Back to Karkand adds four classic maps from Battlefield games of old, all of which take full advantage of the Frostbite 2 engine. Included is Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, Sharqi Peninsula and Wake Island.

If you picked up a copy of the limited edition of Battlefield 3, the map pack will be made available to you at no cost. Otherwise, you’ll be able to purchase the map pack for $14.99 / 1200 Microsoft Points.
