50 Cent: I Wasn’t Invited To My Own Son’s Graduation

50 Cent is taking heat for after his son called the rapper out for skipping his high school graduation, but 50 claims there was a good reason he wasn’t there — his son’s mother prevented it.

On Sunday, Marquise Jackson walked the stage to get his high school diploma, quite an accomplishment considering he is only 16 years old. But the happy event turned bitter when Marquise posted a picture on Facebook calling out his father.

“Yea I broke down,” Jackson wrote in the caption. “I was really excited to see my pops at my graduation but he never showed up smh. My sister and mama is always there for me just know that you wasn’t. I did it without you.”

50 Cent claims otherwise. The rapper said he was never told where or when the graduation ceremony would take place.

The rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has been involved in his son’s education. He foots the bill for the teen’s high-priced private school in Atlanta, where the graduation ceremony was held on Sunday.

The father and son have appeared in the past to be close. Marquise has posted videos to his Instagram account showing him riding in the back seat of a car, reciting rhymes from his father’s records.

There is a chance the controversy may be over nothing. The gossip site Baller Alert reported that the Facebook page may not belong to Marquise at all.

“According to Marquise’s sister, the Facebook page that posted this photo is not Marquise’s real page. Although the page appears to have over 5,000 friends and 200k followers, some including friends that know Marquise personally and attended his graduation. His sister, Mia, provided his Twitter and Instagram and says they’ve been trying to get the fake page shut down. “

Jackson’s sister reportedly claimed that the Facebook page has been an issue for years.

“The page has been there for years,” she said. “We tried to get it deleted. Whoever runs that page has a lot of time on his hands because they create pages of our mother and I and have them correspond with one another as if it’s us, but it’s not.”

Sources told TMZ that 50 Cent was at a charity event in New York City at the time of his son’s graduation ceremony.
