Gia Allemand Honored In ‘The Bachelor’ Tribute

Gia Allemand was honored during an emotional tribute presented by The Bachelor. The special episode was planned to introduce this season’s bachelor Juan Pablo. In addition to a preview of the upcoming season, the special also included a tribute to season 14 bachelorette Gia Allemand. The former dating show contestant committed suicide on August 14, 2013.

The special was presented by The Bachelor host Chris Harrison. During the tribute, Harrison explained that Allemand made several friends while appearing in the reality program. Former contestants Ames, Ashleigh, Chris, Jackie, Jaclyn, and Jenna, taped segments for the tribute. They all agreed that their late friend was thoughtful and kind with a bright personality.

As reported by Hollywood Life, Allemand’s mother Donna also appeared during the moving tribute. In addition to honoring her daughter’s memory, she also had a special message for viewers. Donna urged those with suicidal thoughts to seek professional help. She hopes her words will prevent similar tragedy in other families.

The tribute also included a heart wrenching segment that was recorded prior to Allemand’s death. Her words were almost prophetic, as she spoke about how she wanted to be remembered:

“I just hope people remember my kind heart. I have a kind heart for people. That’s what I hope people remember me for.”

An aspiring actress, Gia Allemand got her big break with her 2010 appearance in The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love. In the program’s 14 season, Allemand and 24 other women competed for the affections of pilot Jake Pavelka. Although she was not chosen in the final episode, she was a favorite among many fans.

Following her appearance in The Bachelor, Allemand also appeared in Inside the Bachelor: Stories Behind the Rose and Bachelor Pad. In addition to appearing in reality programs, Allemand also starred in a short horror film.

Gia Allemand’s life was far too short. However, she touched many lives and will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and talented woman.
