Google is now considering a response to news of Microsoft’s reignited talks of a Yahoo buyout.

Google head honcho Eric Schmidt and founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin told the BBC they needed some time to think about their reaction after learning of the moves this morning.

He did say, however, that he saw no need for concern over the development, and Brin added that Google has seen success because of its superior product within the search engine market.

Brin also said he wouldn’t be opposed to taking on Yahoo exec Jerry Yang if he were to be removed from his current position.

“Jerry is very talented, and if he wants to work at Google, we’d be very excited to have him,” Brin told the BBC.

“But I don’t think that’s going to happen,” he added.

The Google gurus are in England for the company’s European “Zeitgeist” conference.
